Lots of discussion on the forum and explicitly from NL regarding our poor scoring stats.
It`s always interesting how we view the games subjectively and I often sit afterwards thinking that I don`t remember us creating as many decent chances as others see in a game. So I thought I`d check the stats and they make interesting reading.
According to FootyStats after 7 league games (cup data excluded):
We top the xG table with 1.47 xG - which is clearly good.
We drop to 6th for actual goals scored 0.86 / game - which I guess supports the wastefulness infront of goal.
We are second last in terms of average goals scored per match we are involved with - 1.43 - which is clearly a result of our fantastic defence and our horrible strikers :).
Possibly of more importance and frustration is the expected league position taking the above into account.
Our expected league position is TOP (16 pts) by 3 from the Wee Team.
Maybe all to be taken with a pinch of salt but interesting (to me at least).
