What an absolute shock to wake up to this morning. First met Margaret at the gilbraltar in faro in the steak house that a group of pars fans met to watch an game on pars tv. The two of us were scrambling about trying to get the game on with no luck in the end. We all gathered around mobile phones instead to watch it.
Since then I have met up with the same group of people at every Scotland away game and most pars games. She always went out of her way to ask if I was heading down so she could come and say hi.
I told her I couldn't get to a home game against Peterhead last year so she got in contact with some ex Peterhead directors that were heading down to pick me up just so I could make the match.
RIP Margaret you will be missed by so many people. What a credit to DAFC you were.

Absolutely devastating news for DAFC. Margaret worked tirelessly for the club, the fact we still have a club today is testament to her hard work and determination.
She looked after so many aspects of the club, she will be very hard to replace. As well as her many other duties she looked after the welfare of the players, and was quick to spot if help was needed.
Margaret was well known and also respected by so many other clubs, the messages already received show just how much everyone who met her thought of her. She loved the Pars and made it her mission to ensure the club succeeded in every way.
RIP Margaret and condolences to Tom, family and your many friends.

Some words which I feel describe a lovely person and a personal friend, how Margaret lead her life, always looking to do something good and without a bad word to or about anyone, her "dash" is an inspiration to us all
The Dash, by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end
He noted that first came her date of her birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life’s actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

I couldn't put words to this yesterday, and I still feel completely stunned at this - it just seems unbelievable that someone who seemed to be involved in everything, and who was still relatively young, is no longer around.
I only knew Margaret through Pars-related stuff, starting during the time when things were seriously bad in 2012/13. She was an intelligent person with a very personable manner, which allowed her to represent both herself and DAFC very well indeed. We have been genuinely fortunate to have her so deeply involved in the last few years.
I'm geuninely sorry that Margaret is gone, but she will most certainly not be forgotten.

The problem is dd23 that if people disrupt it then those that are getting him told add to the noise. It is a reflection sadly on the moronic element that some so called fans have. We have our element of it too.

Just seen this, really sad news.
All the very best to Margaret's family and friends. A big loss to the Pars family.

I’m still a little in shock. It is rare to find oneself so moved by the passing of someone about whom one knew comparatively little. But despite that lack of familiarity, I considered her a friend – that was a sign of her generosity – you would see her from a distance at somewhere like Nitten Star, or Ainslie Park, or Ochilview or…or… and she would wave and smile and you felt welcome, and that somehow you belonged, you were part of the family. Even seeing her car, with its very personal number plate, parked near some away ground or even in Halbeath Road would raise a smile – you’d know that Margaret was around somewhere and all was right was the world.
I think it was Shaun Byrne’s mum’s funeral yesterday, and I believe there was a good turn out from the club. I’ve no idea if Margaret had anything to do with that (I wouldn’t be surprised), but certainly I like to think she would have inspired such consideration. When all is said and done, it is not the goals we score, or the games we win, or even the great players that play for us, however fleetingly, it is the acts of compassion and kindness shown by our club that make me proud to be a Par, and that may be her legacy.
My condolences to her family and close friends.

McCaig, I think you put into words what most fans are feeling at this sad time.
You brought a tear to my eye reading your post.
East End Park is a symbol of all that is DAFC.
