We got t'internet in late 1998 and the old noticeboard was about then, so I will guess 15th November 1996 as fcda stole my other answer!
Moved on to .net in 2000 i think as that is when I became the mighty BoA!

I was certainly around for the start, when Douglas got it going.
Several of the older crew on here would remember that Tracey Haldane was the originator of the email list. Wonder where she is now? She should be given some sort of recognition, I feel, as her efforts literally changed the lives of those of us overseas. Suddenly, here we were able to converse with Pars fans all over the place. A truly wonderful thing.
My guess would be DAFC.net started 14th November 1996, which would make it 10 years old almost to the day.

Well I am Tracey Haldane who started off the mailing list and I also had a website as well but I don't know if that is what you are talking about. I remember when I stopped working at Edinburgh Uni I passed it over to someone at St Andrews Uni. I stopped working at Edinburgh Uni in December 1997 (I think) or maybe it was December 1996. I don't get a chance to go along to matches anymore (they are too expensive especially with 2 children). I read the forum and look at the web and if there is a match on TV I watch it, I am also kept up to date with what is going on by Douggie's sister Tina who I work with. Hope this helps people find the answer - I believe I had something in a programme about the mailing list and the web-site which was also when I was in the programme presenting Stewart Petrie the man of the match award for a coca cola cup game - I think the programme that it was mentioned in was against Dundee United - I can't remember who the cup game was against but it was just after Jackie McNamara made his debut for Scotland Under 21's I think or maybe Scotland B team - he was substituted in the cup game.
