 Dominic Raab and Worker's Rights

Our new Brexit Minister is yet another hard right nutter.

Just remember every time you hear about EU Regulations costing business billions it's things like:

not getting sacked on a whim,
getting the same rights as a permanent employee so you don't get taken on as a temp permanently,
holidays,
limits to your working day,
maternity leave

These are a snippet of rights we're going to have to fight to avoid losing after Brexit.

Handily he compiled it into a 16 page pdf with the top ten highlights of how to shaft us on page 1.

Hopefully when May eventually steps down she does a Geoffrey Howe and torpedoes Johnson at the same time.

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

The scary thing is though it's a sizeable part of the Conservatives that share these views.

May and Cameron are moderates compared to some of them that could well be in the running for the top job next.

Howe was a bit insane with his handling of the economy but he destroyed Thatcher.

Macron has just recently faced down the “jobs for life retire at fifty” French rail Unions. The Greek crises caused by the same kind of nonsense.
As for holidays, maternity leave, sick leave etc. when I enlisted in the Scottish Office in 1965 I signed the Official Secrets Act and was handed my annual leave card..20 days rising to 30, plus 10 and a half PH.
During the years before joking the EU,women in my office had paid maternity leave.
Benefits evolved over time, but the basics were established pre EU.
