Am I missing something? Are the Central American migrants, fleeing from war, poverty and famine, armed? Is the American army planning to shoot them? Why are some heavily armed US soldiers wearing facemasks?

How long will they be housed in ''tent cities'' and who will cater for their basic needs? Is this an example of the 'progress' mankind has made, after one million years of existence?

That's just it,no one knows for sure who is fleeing what. You have to question the timing of this as well.6 days before the mid terms?
Every country has a right to defend it border and process each individual. The vast majority of these folks in caravans get sent back. The don't meet the criteria for political asylum
Many Americans are housed in "tent cities" (Take a look a San Francisco) shouldn't the U.S take care of them first?
BTW.Who told you humans have been around for a million years;)

You're right Richie, you do have to question the timing of this. The caravan of migrants won't be hitting the border till well after the midterms however since immigration is a strong hand for Trump he is playing this up to the maximum.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

If Trump represents the current standing of humankind in The Ascent Of Man, then I want to "make like an Apeman".
