Taking her first steps towards the white house.Don't think she will be able to overcome the native American scandal that will inevitably be brought up by wiggy.

Warren is the latest in a long line of pseudo rebels thrown up by US politics. She looks like a school librarian and is far less convincing than that other east coast intellectual, Bernie Saunders.
Shooting Kennedy had a purpose: keep the East Coast liberals out of power. It was very successful in the long term and has given the corporate class that Warren, to her credit opposes, riches beyond their wildest dreams.

Give her credit, she did a lot of good things on the banking committee when things blew up in 2008.Joe Biden will likely be the candidate but perhaps she could run with him.

Richie,
There is no real opposition in the USA and never has been.
How many people know that a comedian, Charlie Chaplin, had his passport withdrawn so that he could not criticise the USA overseas? Paul Robeson, the black singer, was treated the same way. Not exactly the land of the free. Yet when the DDR built the Berlin Wall JF Kennedy had the temerity to go there and lecture about people having the freedom to leave their frontiers.
The Communist Party USA had its leaders. like Gus Hall, arrested regularly, especially when elections were pending. That is before we examine the disqualification of poor/black voters in southern states. The USA has been less than a democracy in its entire history, ye has had the chutzpah to impose its power om other countries in that very name.

Right ..the U.S has never been a "pure democracy" although those "inalienable rights" that get trotted out at election time are fading fast as well.

Joe Biden would have beaten Trump hands down had he stood in 2016. But this time around, age is not on his friend. Still, if he were to balance that with the youthful Beto O'Rourke as his running mate then perhaps he could do it.
At least, with Elizabeth Warren announcing that she is standing, the Democrats will now have an official spokesperson in the media to challenge Trump's increasingly wild ramblings. The American system of not having a formal leader of the opposition is just plain daft.
What will be interesting to watch in the coming months is whether a challenger to Trump 2020 emerges from within the Republican Party. There are a few to watch out for - Ben Sasse, Nikki Haley and Charlie Baker, for starters.

Style aside, the challengers to Trump are going to have a tough time.He has done ok and sometimes that is enough.
Warren will have a tough time playing down getting a law professors job claiming to be an native american,of which there is no evidence.
Beto?Ocasia-cortez?outsiders.The party has gone left but majority of the U.S hasn't,just certain blocks.
Biden still looks the front runner for now.

Nobody will care about the Native American thing. Trump was having it off with porn stars behind his wife's back and then paying them hush money and most Republicans didn't care.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Indeed and alot of people who now support Trump were appalled by Clinton's behaviour. Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.

If Warren does succeed in becoming President then at least it could be said that the first female president was worthy of the title, which was certainly not the case for Hillary.
Trump in fairness has tried to keep his main promises RE the wall etc but I have a feeling he might get shown up over inactivity RE North Korea. Putin is able to run rings around him as well. Will never agree with the man on climate change - how he can simply deny principles that are High School Chemistry and Physics is beyond be, but then again I think this is more likely to be him pandering to the Republican Voter base and his donors. To his credit though, he has played the thickies in the Republican Voter base like a fiddle and he knows it!

The Dems(at least Pelosi and many others) have decided walls are immoral, but fences are not, keep up that rhetoric and they will find it hard going in 2020.
I think trump does agree with Physics on climate change. He believes it's driven by the absorption of solar radiation and the re-distribution of that energy.

The only thing that makes me distrust all the climate change stuff is the fact we had the Medieval Warm Period with no massive carbon dioxide emissions. We also had the Little Ice Age Later.
Also I do remember reading an article by a naturalist scientist who said to get funding it was much better to mention global warming causing the thing he wanted to investigate.
I have no doubts we are not doing our world any favours but I do believe the Sun has a bit more to do with this than us.
