This short 8-minute doco shows you precisely what the US-Mexico border entails. It provides a really helpful grounding on the practical obstructions that wall-builders face.
The only realistic conclusion you can draw is that it is a folly and no matter the extent of the political rhetoric, it surely will never be completed.

In the political sense it doesn't really matter Trump has gotten the leader of the house to admit border security(a wall) is immoral.
Federal funds to Planned Parenthood who sell aborted baby parts doesn't raise any moral issue at all with Nancy.

It does when you are claiming the security of a country is somehow evil.
As for the other,i don't believe it was behind her back. She knew exactly what she was marrying.

Zero federal funds go to the abortion provision part of planned parenthood.
It is spent on things such as family planning and sex education.
The investigations in 12 different states into Planned Parenthood selling aborted body parts all found that the claims they did this were false.

The DV Biologics settlement of nearly 8 million dollars would suggest otherwise.
You are correct though they do have many other services that focus women's health.

My understanding of this is that Planned Parenthood got permission for body tissue to be used in medical research into degenerative diseases and spinal injuries. The law is that no profit can be made from these.
They were supplied to DV Biologics who then sold them on to research centres around the world but for a profit.
DV Biologics broke the law. Planned Parenthood did not.

As SIF said, Planned Parenthood was cleared in the DVB case, but I would tend to go along with you Richie in that, exclusive of any editing, the comments by the lady doctor are pretty damning. I understand the need for research in this area but is an ugly business no matter which way you look at it.
That said, we have swung a hell of a long way away from my original post on the border wall. Did you view that video and did you find it helpful?
I found it very instructive to actually see what all the talk is about.

It was a good video,OZ.Obviously huge parts of the border won't need a wall as it's virtually impassable.
Trump is asking 5B.Pelosi is saying 0.Why wouldn't the compromise be 2.5B?There are already over 20 million illegally in the US Trump wants to stem that flow.Just politics as usual Trump made the wall a campaign promise, the dems are going all out to make sure he doesn't deliver on it.

It would be interesting to know the extent of CIA involvement in the the drugs game. That charge has been out there for years.Even made a movie about it with Tom Cruise as Barry Seal.
Ultimately, the cause of the problem is demand and is there a will to stop it?Especially when there is huge amounts of money to be made and a drugged citizen won't ask to many probing questions of it's Govt.

Normally you are very reasoned and sensible - well, for a leftie - but you're talking nonsense there.
Economically at least I think it's safe to say Trump has been something of a success and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see him re-elected.

And to be fair if the deep state hated him that much he'd be gone imo.
Not having a go or anything but when a biggy falls I'll pay attention, until then he's just the guy making it look like he's going after them when really it's throwing meat in the grinder.
We'll see.

God thats a long post for a mobile device!
No offence but I scrolled past it as I'm talking about all the people he hasn't been paying that work for the American people.
Is it fair that they aren't getting paid because he can't get a consensus to build a wall he promised Mexico would pay for?
Hopefully that's redeemed my sensible lefty credentials! Or at least but a bit of context on my earlier post.

700,000 working class Americans facing not getting paid because Trump doesn't have the support to implement a policy and he decides to use them as pawns to try and leverage Congress to implement a policy that doesn't have the support of the majority of Americans according to most polls.

Congress exists to act as a balance to the President. The majority of Americans don't see the wall as an immediate priority and a significant amount don't want it at all.
Trump is playing to his own power base and ego by trying to force Congress to approve spending the majority of the country don't want them to approve.
Rather than accept that and find other ways to get his policies through, he's happy to let working class Americans pay the price. It's not joint responsibility for the shut down.

Exactly, the Dems promised in the midterm campaign to not fund the wall. Looks like Trump made a pledge he can't now keep.
For what it's worth in my opinion it's such a trivial matter. One third of the border already has some sort of barricade covering it. One of the sides need to be the bigger party and compromise. I suspect it will be the Dems and theybwill reflect well on them.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

The simple answer is no one knows,it's anone's guess. All we do know is 1B was spent on 53 miles in the Bush era.
Let's say that instead of a physical barrier,a tech barrier is erected on 500 miles...that's 10B right there.
