Not hypocritical at all in the wake of last night's by-election result.
They've basically recaptured a seat which was a strong Lib Dem seat until 2015 by a slender majority, yet the way BBC and Sky Views are going on about it you'd think we were about to witness the coronation of PM Swinson !

A majority of one?
Aye, good luck with that.

You've forgotten to subtract from your figures the number of Tory voters who oppose Brexit. Politics is not the same as arithmetic, otherwise Scotland would have voted for independence a few years back.
There are a fair number of Tory Remainers; no surprise since it was the Tory Party under Ted Heath who took the UK into the EU in the first place.
The Brexit moment has passed. Had those campaigning for it been prepared, instead of alarming themselves by their victory, then the UK would have been able to negotiate a 'soft' Brexit reflecting the vote within a year. The Brexiteers were never that serious, being more certain abot what they were opposed to rather than able to convince the wider public what they are actually for. Rather like the SNP who failed to come up with a credible currency (they wanted to leave Westminster but retain the Pound) the Brexiteers have failed to explain how on earth they can leave the EU yet continue to trade profitably with it.
