Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been jailed for 3 years for corruption.
Pity we will never see politicians here face jail for their corruption.

The French judiciary would have a field day here, maybe even bring back madame guillotine for some of them.

Two years of the term are suspended and his team of lawyers are appealing the sentence... Which will take years.
So he won't actually go to jail.

Even if he loses appeal he can choose to be tagged & remain at home for a year!

Even the unsuspended year was never going to be in jail.
Home detention with full conjugals!

At least he's in court, he'd be getting knighthood here and a seat in thr House of Lords.
