 Boris the Stink Bomb

What a stink! He`s doing his dictator bit again, having dissolved Parliament once before, now he`s dictating the terms of his own exit. Parliament has to show it`s bigger than him. He has to be got out now.

Where to? From out front of number ten back inside to get his feet back under the table? `Heh heh, job done - plenty of time now to consolidate - a week is a long time in politics - they`ll soon forget and beg me to stay, see if they don`t. And Parliament is gonna be a breeze now nearly all the dissenting scum have gone. God, this job is so easy, ruling over millions of complete thickos...`

Imagine having to resign because you weren`t being honest about how much you knew about a colleague being a sex pest. ...

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Has he resigned? To do so he is expected to visit Buckingham Palace and formally announce his resignation. So far, all I have read on media suggests he sent a text message to the Queen. He may think that the tide will turn in his favour.

He is still appointing and running the cabinet and is still officially the PM. If he decides to march on Moscow in five minutes then no one can, officially, at least, stop him. If he decides to call a snap election no one can stop him. If he asks the Queen to prorogue parliament then no one can stop him. Yet the majority of his cabinet think he is unfit for office. No wonder democracy is a hard sell overseas. And this is the Mother of Parliaments with a screed of legal niceties; pity help the rest.

This is why most countries write down their constitution, rather than pretend to have one for hundreds of years and hope nobody notices.

A nice bit of light relief there Wotsit.

You`ve put the case very well, Sammer. `Legal niceties` - our Parliament`s like a Dickens novel: red tape and a wee dog runnin` around jumpin` through hoops are no` really a match for The Terminator.

If the Tories got him out now, they`d get a wee bit o` credit. The longer they leave it, is there a chance that some Tory voters will get sick o` the stink?

“ like a Dickens novel”

Nail on head - His novel Little Dorrit features a govt Dept, the Circumlocution Office, where everything referred to it ends up in an endless pass the buck system designed to be run for the benefit of those who work in it...

And TOWK who are you hinting at? Out with it man, this is no place for subtlety!
