Interesting take. But does that mean Scotland is also an Irish colony? Or a Scandinavian colony?
What I find interesting in Scotland is what people consider "Scotland". As a country it`s boundaries have changed many times. Many people ignorantly talk of Hadrian`s wall, but forget about the Antonine wall. The forget that, despite it being in the name, Fife was a Pictish kingdom.
Scotland formed out of a need to fight those naughty Vikings, who I suppose colonised England (tongue firmly in cheek).

The article relates to the union with England, the one where England can outvote the Scots 10 to 1.
As our politicians appear to be unable to deliver Independence this may be another option to explore.

That`s been the case since the very beginning. The alternative would probably be something more akin to the EU whereby decisions would be made by representatives from the English, N.Irish, Scottish and Welsh governments. Unfortunately, we live in a country obsessed with tradition meaning that rather than review and reform, we`re going to keep the status quo and spend BILLIONS updating an ancient parliament building that won`t be fit for purpose even after all that expense.
