I was wondering how the Israeli government gets round the issue of killing loads of innocent folk. After all, they are not just killing Hamas, who their war is supposed to be with, but many non-military citizens. Here is an explanation from the Texas Jewish Post:
"As long as a person is in the `image of God,` to kill him or her is murder"... "but the mortal enemies of the Jewish people, which renders them enemies of God Himself, have lost their likeness to God, and to kill them in war is not murder."
What puzzles me is that, if this explanation is accepted, then babies and children are deemed to be "mortal enemies of the Jewish people". Is it not the case that Israel has similar laws regarding minors (children) that we do - i.e. children have limited responsibility for their actions (and beliefs). If so, babies must be exempt from being "mortal enemies", and even children throwing stones at Israeli troops, cannot be considered "mortal enemies" due to diminished responsibility.
I put it that the killing of Gazan children is murder, and I don`t see how the Israeli government or any other government washes their hands of such atrocities.
I know that people can justify absolutely anything, but I find it hard to believe that anyone really swallows such "explanations" and that they`re not just smokescreen.

Here is an example of someone who, according to the Texas Jewish Post has "lost [her] likeness to God, and to kill [her] in war is not murder."
Gazan baby:
Is there anyone even remotely in their right mind who will call this baby "a mortal enemy" of anyone?
