Raith Rovers Post Match Interviews (CIS Cup)

Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Wednesday, 26th Aug 2009

Highlights from interviews given by Jim McIntyre and John McGlynn after the CIS Cup game against Raith Rovers at East End Park.

Jim McIntyre
Understandably Jim is very pleased with the result in which was a hard fought game between two hard working teams. Credit is given to the goal keeper for some wonderful saves, Andy Kirk for bagging the goals and Willie Gibson for his performance throughout. However, all of the players played their part in a fine victory. He was pleased to see such a vocal support from both teams return to East End Park, this added to the derby atmosphere tremendously. Saturday`s league game will be no different according to the gaffer who realises it will be another very tough afternoon.

John McGlynn
McGlynn felt that his side had been given a way back into the game having scored the equaliser through a penalty early in the second half but the own goal minutes later quashed that opportunity. He believes that although dealt that huge blow the Rovers had a few other chances to get back into the game before losing the third. Looking to Saturday, John will be using the defeat to learn and hopefully, for him, to put in a better performance come the weekend.
