It`ll be a tough 2-1 win for us today. PT will be well up for it after being gubbed by Arbroath at home. I reckon they`ll be pretty physical today...........and will try to stop us playing..........

Why all the negativity? Why not have some good energy about our team that`s doing very well considering some say our players "cant hack it" at this level

Graham`s aerial ability could cause us problems given our makeshift defence is not that big. Think we will cause them problems at the other end though.

With O`Halloran, Jakubiak and McCann hovering around their penalty box, Thistle should have enough reason to be concerned about our physicality.

The only Thistle player that genuinely concerned me recently was Kyle Turner, and he`s to be found at Ross County these days.

Hardly negatively. I think we`ll struggle today, but hope to be proved wrong.

Realism is different to negativity. Again, I`m not the manager so I don`t expect this to be reflected in the squad today.

Also, I`ve never said any of our team "can`t hack it" at this level so not sure where that comes from.

We`re capable, but a tough ask today.

I understand not wanting to see everything through biased eyes but i think saying 3-1 defeat like its a certainty is a bit suspect, i respect your opinion tho as everyone is entitled to their own, also that comment was most certainly not a dig at you, and i mean no offence

All Partick early doors but great chance there for McCann after a fantastic diagonal from Fisher and lovely cross by Edwards. Think if he`d left it Jakubiak might have been in a better position too.

Lawless having a field day on the right wing in the space between Otoo and Edwards. Sort that out and there`s nothing in the game.

We`ve missed 2 sitters yet could easily be 3-0 down.

Our lightweight squad today doesn`t look like we can bring boys on to change a game. Hope I`m wrong.

Kick in the teeth after being probably the better side after the goal and the half time team talk. Moffat on now but Thistle will be happy to sit deep and counter which is more likely to result in a third than anything for us at the moment. Referee has been abysmal, not that that changes anything about our performance but we`ve had nothing from him all game and that`s before mentioning the penalty we should have had. McCann one a header, turned round to find a Partick player in his way and he gave them a free kick!

If you can go with anything the BBC says we have had 16 attempts but only 3 on target !
Partick 15 attempts and 8 on target and 2 goals
you need to get more on target if you want to score goals !
This is often the case with us plenty attempts but the ratio on target isn`t very good
I hate to say it but No way back now , this lot aren`t Airdrie

3-0 is absolutely dreadful against a team who were thumped by Arbroath last week. We`re much better than that. What makes it worse is when it`s going bad we have no one to bring on who can make a difference. It`s rotten luck how we always seem to have a new injury each week.

Saw on pie and bovril we are trying to get Charlie Reilly on loan. Would love that to be true.

This is one of those games where you question having a back three. Our defence has looked so shaky today. Also, Sharp will be handing the gloves to Mehmet, methinks.

Rangers being 2-1 down means nothing to me ,
I am only interested in the Pars results , and unfortunately we are not at the races in the second half today ( maybe be better at the races ) probably a wee reality check today on how important some of our key players being missing

3 0 was harsh.
We lost that to some poor refereeing and a couple of keeper blunders. Didn`t see the first goal.

Looking at the league, although it was a heavy defeat, not much damage done. Sure we will climb again. Hard to predict next week. Depends which Arbroath turns up but with the top two v each other we can tighten it up again.
Cracking league. No idea what to expect in most matches.

It`s a miserable weekend so far, so Aberdeen`s win over Rangers brings a tiny slither of amusement to an otherwise grim showing at the fitba. Doubtless, down Ibrox way, they will be baying for blood.

If I were a betting man, which I am not, I would say Rangers will be going down the Aussie route this time.

Kevin Muscat, a former Gers player, is managing Ange`s old team Yokohama and is doing very well. I reckon he will soon be Rangers-bound.

Bizarre game (not that I saw all of it, with the wife and kids shopping in Glasgow I took the opportunity to leave early for once). Had we gone in at 1-1 or even 2-1 up I don`t Thistle could have complained too much but instead a few minutes after the break we are 2 down and it`s game over.

Quite a few things went wrong for us today and we might get away with one or maybe two happening but when it`s all together there`s not much we could do. Shape was all over the place and we really miss Benedictus back there. Fisher was often pushing up looking for offside (not that the far side linesman was ever giving any for some reason) but Otoo was 5 yards deeper. Chalmers was a bit all over the place and far too slow against two midfielders who never gave him any peace. Partick stopped us playing out from goal kicks and when we did go long we all too often handed the ball straight back to them. We missed several decent chances. We gave them three goals by awful individual errors - neither centre half tracking the runner for the first, Sharp doing who-knows-what for the second and O`Halloran not wiping the guy out on the half way line and taking the yellow for the third. On top of this we had a referee who seemed to get his whistle in a lucky bag. One I`d those days...

That’s a poor as a performance I’ve seen since we were relegated.

We looked very disjointed & Thistle ran the show. McInroy bossed the midfield, they just looked dangerous every time they came forward. Far too many players were just not on it today.

Can’t understand why we only made one sub, after the second goal the game was dead. Give the youngster a run out.

Bad day at the office, squad is completely decimated with injuries and too many players having an off day. The right side of the defence is a total mess with O`Halloran/Comrie and we lack a physical presence in the middle against strikers such as Graham.

Up front there was zero chemistry and Hamilton/Chalmers were miles off the game in midfield. Sharp will make way for Mehmet now given the mistake you`d think.

Only pass marks for me today were Jakubiak and Edwards who both tried to make things happen.

Might not have been the correct circumstances to bring a teenager on, a game where we are struggling. There is not a lot of experience in the side at the moment due to injuries, so flinging 17 year olds into that environment might be detrimental to them.
McPake seems to know them well and manage the young players well in that respect. He know what he is doing

What a waste of money. I can take a defeat, but not in that manner. Players need to come out and apologise to the fans for that. They totally gifted 3 goals to Thistle today. So, so poor. That’s the worst I have seen us since Peter Grant. That today was on par with what we were used to seeing under him: no-one knowing their jobs and gifting goals from not doing the absolute bare basics. Extremely disappointing.

We need to judge the team when all the players are back from injury. Summers was a massive miss today and the manager was again forced to make changes. It’s been a good start to the season and testament to Mcpake to get results with so many key players missing. The Pars will bounce back.

Thought we were the better team first half although there were warning signs as defensively we were disjointed and that wasn’t addressed the full game, obviously personnel effects that. Clear penalty shout from my view and a terrific block from a Partick defender/goalie? to stop us taking the lead in the first half.

All three goals are absolutely criminal at this level and cost us the game, I think had bene been playing we don’t concede at least two of those. Games like this will happen, don’t think you can question effort of the players which is all you can ask for at the end of the day. Onto next week🏁

Seen us play far worse.

Could've been 2-2 at HT. We missed 2 sitters, McCanns header is an easy chance. Has to go in. They missed 2 easy chances as well to be fair.

2nd goal kills the game stone dead. Bad error from Sharp.

No apologies needed (stupid comment)

2nd half was as poor a performance I`ve saw from us, since the defeat away to Montrose last season.
Hopefully the players respond in the same manner as that defeat.

Bannigan and McInroy bossed the midfield from the get go. Didn`t think we played too badly but one of those days, looked a clear handball for the penalty.

With Summers missing I thought the obvious change was to bring in Moffat to replace him. Playing Wighton, McCann and Jakubiak didn`t work and left us a wee bit light in midfield I thought. We lost the plot after the second goal unfortunately.

We need more threat of a goal from our number 9. Wighton needs to step up a gear. To me, he doesn`t look too fit but his positional play is a bit off mark as well.....he seems to wander quietly into tight positions instead of shouting on the ball to open up positions........although he`s not one of our younger ones he needs to be putting in a shift like the younger ones do.........although our stream on PARSTV was well dodgy yesterday (and we didnt play close to our best) I saw snippets of O`Halloran putting in the graft.........he put in a shift last week as well but Wighton needs to be putting in a bit extra too.
We need a stronger number 9 who`s prepared to battle and bustle a bit harder and shout for the ball to be played to him - I still think Wighton can be it if he`s willing to work a bit harder at it. Maybe do a wee bit more of the weight/strength training that others seem to have done.......? He`s only 26........he still has time.........

Why pick on Wighton after a generally poor performance? Last week we hardly had a weakness, this week it was hard to pick out anyone as having a good game. Wighton had nothing to do with the three sloppy goals we lost.

Our biggest problem yesterday was our inability to stop their midfield getting the ball to Lawless and Morrison. Not sure how Wighton is singled out as being responsible for that?

I was critical of Craig’s work rate before the current management team arrived, however, that can’t be levelled at him since then.

In fairness to him, McPake also revealed ongoing issues with his knees, so that may have been a contributing factor before his arrival ?

Combination of awful refereering, shaky defence, and missed chances, not to mention a very limited bench.

We should have gone in at half time with at least a draw but the poor goals in the 2nd half knocked the wind out of us.

Lets get back on the winning front next week.

Annoyed by the booers, when the team is struggling fans are supposed to encourage, or it used to be like that,.

Just watched the highights of the game on youtube
I think we were all over the place and totally disjointed and too many players have an off day ,
At half time We should have been at the very least drawing with them , some terrible refereeing decisions !
As for Sharp well probably that is a game where he has been tested more and from what I saw Deniz walks straight in next week ,
second half could have been a more embarassing scoreline so we need to dust ourselves down and hope we get the response we are looking for against the bunnet`s team next saturday
I also think our team need to have more shooting practice , our stats with attempts to actual on target are abyssmal
Considering the amount of first team regulars out Partick were not miles in front of us , we caused our own downfall yesterday ,

Wighton is at this level for a reason if he scored more chances than he passes up he wouldn`t be here. It`s really that simple.

Bad result yesterday but you move on still in a decent position in the table. I think we`re a mid table championship side and the table outs us there or there about.

We`re going through an injury crisis right now and yesterday was an off day. We desperately need Bene/Breen back and obviously summers would`ve made a difference too. Mehmet will be back in goals too. I`m not going to be overly critical of the XI out there because I don`t think the personnel fit together but McPake was forced to play them, given Moffat was the only real first team player on the bench.

Frustrating but I think we`ve had a decent enough start to season given the injuries and the fixtures where we`ve been disappointed to not beat Dundee United and not take something against Raith. Just need some players back so we can have a more balanced team on the park.

From the general euphoria after last week`s memorable performance, we`ve all come back down to Earth with a bump. Football has a habit of doing this to you. Same thing happened to Arbroath. A stunning win at Firhill, followed by a home defeat to the bottom side. For Thistle, it was the reverse, of course.

A home win next week and we can put yesterday`s disappointment behind us. I want to see the Bunnet looking even grumpier than usual. 😀

I know wightons not everyone’s cup of tea, me included at times but i actually think he’s looked really sharp the past few games. Dropping into receive the ball well, touch has been better and more impressed with his work off the ball recently as well. Hopefully it continues.

100% agree with this. I get frustrated watching him sometimes but other times he is brilliant, last Saturday for example.

A poor day all round – Glasgow is an absolute nightmare to drive in at the moment – endless roadworks and the LEZ – not sure if this is leading to congestion elsewhere but I set off early and I still only reached the ground at two minutes to three. I’ve never had to park so far from the ground so I thought there must be a big crowd in, but I guess I was just late.

No Bene, no Breen, no Todd, no Ritchie-Hosler, no Allan, no Tod and now no Summers. Sutherland major and Young away on loan. It looked a very weak bench. At least Mehmet was back, but I don’t ever remember the Pars naming two substitute keepers on the bench. You had to feel for Andy Collier not getting a gig. I thought we might get a Westy moment late on, but perhaps that’s not allowed any more. I guess there is a small chance you can lose 2 goalkeepers during a game so f there was space then it made some sort of sense to list them both.

I agree with Wee Eck – I was not convinced by the starting 11 – Jakubiak in for Summers when Moffat might have been a more like for like replacement, but given he didn’t do much when he came on, maybe the 11 we went with was the least worse option. We did look weak in midfield though.

It’s a tougher division – you get punished for your mistakes more often and we need to learn. The first goal was route 1 that we didn’t defend, the second was a goalkeeping error and I don’t know what happened with the third – we seemed to be back in numbers yet still the boy got a free header.

Again we missed chances – McCann seemed to go for a header when Jakubiak might have been better placed, Fisher (I think) missed a sitter and though I didn’t see it on the highlights we had a good chance in the first half with Jakubiak had the option of shooting or playing in McCann and ended up doing neither.

I didn’t have a good view of the penalty shouts – I think the first might have hit the boy’s back but there was a bigger shout for me when Fisher seemed to get barged over.

I might have given one of the young lads a couple of minutes at the end when the game was gone – I know there is an argument that when you are getting a doing you protect them and let your experienced players deal with it instead.

Overall, a bad day at the office, but it happens. We go again next week, in what will be a tough game. I think Sharp’s error will make up McPake’s mind and Mehmet will be back (although Sharp had a couple of decent saves after his blunder). Hopefully one or two others will make it as well.

Big pile of utter cow dung.....head to the rugby or some other sport if you think Wighton is our weak link or doesn`t "work hard". Utter drivel

It’s like playing with a man down when wightons on most weeks. Barely gets involved, is rarely in a threatening position during open play and think he’s attempted a sprint once this season. You’d think he was 35 not 25.

Fans only seem to notice his shortcomings when we lose. I bet the manager isn`t thinking Wighton`s performance was a major factor in our defeat.

FFS - I wasn’t exactly slating Wighton in fact I was deliberately not. I don’t think he’s a write-off by any means - I’m sure he’s got it within him to step up a bit. I think he can do better. Look at the difference in McCann in a year, or Chalmers …..both have stepped up a notch. Aye, yesterday was a blip …….McPake has done wonders and has got more out of a number of players and they’re showing they’re up for it - but I don’t see it with Wighton. A bit stronger and a bit more movement from him……..not being negative.

For those frightened about driving in Glasgow, it is only older diesel cars that have the problem. I have old petrol cars one is 22 years old and the other 20, neither of them are fined. Unlike London which is ULEZ cities in Scotland are only LEZ.
