Put out the cup by The Spartans today and their league form hasn’t been good so far this season. Shame, as he’s a good manager.

Good news for us, arbroath been a bit of a bogey team over the years and if he watched us last night he’ll know where we can be got at.
Can’t see them getting anyone better in.

Wouldn’t quite say that Berkey. Could be quite the opposite, hope I’m wrong.
Have you not heard of the first game bounce? Regardless of who’s in the dugout after a sacking, teams usually react.

Stuart Malcolm, left Berwick a few weeks ago to join the coaching staff, isnt mentioned in the statement so presume he will be in charge on Tuesday if its on.

I don`t know exactly but we`ve come back from goals down a few times this season, last week the most recent. First game of the season was another. Away to Inverness another.
Conceding first then losing isn`t exclusively a Pars problem either.

Yep, they have been punching above their weight but think where they were a couple of seasons ago should be the norm. And we have people calling for our manager`s head after a cup defeat in November when he`s not had a full squad to pick from all season.

How many times have teams came to us having just sacked their manager or not won in like fifteen games and we have just rolled over. I fear for Tuesday. We’re not even bang average at the moment.

For a while Arbroath had the advantage of the Covid money paid out to all Championship clubs by the Scottish government which benefited them disproportionately because it was based on the costs of running a full-time club. Presumably it lasted them a bit longer than the other clubs but it can`t last forever. Maybe Dick saw the writing on the wall.

Aw, jeez, Al. When I saw this thread, my first thought was, surely that`s not someone recommending we replace McPake with The Bunnet...
:)
In fairness, Dick could be useful as a scout, but I wouldn`t want him anywhere near our dugout.

I think he was only about 3 or 4 short of reaching 1000 league games as a manager. At one point his 1000th game would have been against us in December.

A relic who has kept a part time side comfortably in the Championship for a long whole now and pushed them almost to promotion.
I`m sure if he wanted to, he`d have so much to offer any club in almost any capacity.

Dick probably doesn`t have the modern jargon to impress at interviews - `high press`, `low press`, `transition`, `no 10` etc.
