I think admin from the east end bounce forum will have been in attendance too and I know Digs always writes up a good report so please look at his too.

Some half decent injury news. Summers and Moffat fit. Fisher not far away. Bene training. Breen back before Christmas

Thanks Buffy. Sounds like a lot was covered. Looks like we are trying to tap into the foreign market as well which is interesting. Good to hear Bene, Fisher and Breen aren’t too far away either

That`s good news on the injury front DA-no-1, looking at the league table, we have done very well with a makeshift squad considering all these long term injuries to key players.

It would have been folly to fling money at the squad this season when Dundee Utd have the resources to throw a lot more at it in the transfer window if they feel the need to. Far better to take the cautious approach this season, build the squad, see if we can get up via the play offs, but if not, go for it again next season

I’ll expand on a couple of points

Re the ParsTV streaming point ~ the club are in regular talks with the team and are engaging with them re new equipment.

The given nowadays is that supporters - of all clubs - see streams for matches worldwide on a 5 star TV film service and expect the same from their home club here. We all want and expect a good service but there will always be issues with equipment / breakdowns in communication systems / internet drops etc.

That`s nonsense. Nobody expects a "5 star service" but paying so much for a game you`d hope that all these constant issues at some point evaporate.

For Oz, I asked your question in full. The answer I got from David Cook was that we already have membership clubs in place which allow supporters to actively engage and offer financial assistance to the club ie the centenary club, the 1885 business club and Pars Supporters Trust.

There’s also a history of bad decisions made by previous memberships with DAFC and without dwelling on that he didn’t want to go down that route again and have more in place.

I’m only posting what was said EET. The high expectations from fans isn’t obviously going to be found at our level - but most clubs have volunteers at the helm and not pros.

The word balance came into a lot of the answers to questions tonight so if we take that into consideration re the streaming then yes the costs involved by fans paying for the service should always equate to a high quality product. What DC was saying was that the club are working alongside ParsTV to provide that scenario for each game but there will always be issues that are outwith anyone’s control.

You’re not used to reading the updates BPP. It starts at the bottom and ends at the top. It will refresh every minute or so to bring the whole report up.

Remember that live updates are available on the app too (Android and iOS versions). They appear in their entirety without any delay, but as Buffy says the oldest entry is at the end, so you’ll need to scoot all the way down and work back up.

Buffy, Thank you for asking my question at the meeting. Good on ya, as we say Down Under. I appreciate and understand the response from the club, too.

I didn’t think you’d be the one to bite to that, buffy 😂 I noticed that (it looked like) the board shimmied to volunteers regarding the maintenance of the ground though 🤦🏻‍♂️

"Did we break even last year? Not a chance. Huge loss from being in league one"

With a home average attendance of 4776 ( I doubt they would have budgeted for anything close to that) that`s incredible.

The prize money in League One is absolutely peanuts. We had a squad of players on contracts from the championship, it would have been impossible to break even without a miraculous cup run.

I don`t think anyone could really expect us to do anything other than make a loss trying to run a full time operation in League One - during a time where inflation was hitting double digits.

The saving grace is that we were only there for a year and received a bit of a windfall from the Nisbet deal in the close season.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

We have a full time wage structure, with players presumably on championship wages. Think I saw somewhere that the total prize money for the SPFL was £35m. On that basis, prize money for winning League 1 was 0.5% of that, which is £175,000.

In comparison, 10th in the championship gets 0.70%, which would be £245,000. 5th in the championship gets exactly double whatever the league 1 winners get, if you want a comparison.

It’s perhaps quite telling, that our playing budget doesn’t seem to have increased much this season. That’s before you consider any commercial revenue - I’d imagine sponsorship packages are more appealing at a championship club, than a league 1 club. We’re also having to hire training facilities, which I don’t imagine will be cheap - and there was the boiler issue late December/early January last year.

From memory, I think we were always told that we would be very likely to post losses in league 1. It’s not like this has been hidden from us and that’s why the urgency to get promoted was always made clear.

You also have to keep in mind that we have added to our wage bill in the non playing side

Otoo and KRH included fees and a salary for this year which would`ve been lower when we loaned them.
