You could be right, da, but the received wisdom down Ibrox way was that Beale was the brains behind the partnership with StevieG and that`s why he was asked to come back as manager.
You saw how badly Gerrard fared at Villa when Beale left him on his own to take the job at QPR. And look at Villa since Gerrard was sacked. I can`t see him getting the Liverpool job any time soon. 😃

Beale says he was originally appointed as head coach at Rangers but, with other staff changes, he ended up having responsibility for other management areas he wasn`t comfortable with. He`ll have input to these areas at Sunderland but essentially he`ll be head coach.
