If the club has USH with a track record of issues - then embarrassing is a fair criticism.
Not much point in having a system if it causes repeated problems.

Some people must struggle leaving the house if this is the sort of thing that embarrasses them.
The USH was on because it`s been freezing and the pitch is masked most of the time by the shadows of the stands. A pipe bursting in winter is hardly a great surprise. As much as we`ll joke about it doing us a favour, I`m sure the club would much prefer the ££££ from sales in the stadium.

I don’t think it was intentional. There is a big hole in the pitch and it is unlikely the US heating will be available now until the close season. It is a bit harsh to say we created and what have we become.

St Nirren made a statement back in 2016 that it was about £1000 per day to run the undersold heating at it had to be on 4 days before to operate correctly so £4k for a game to go ahead. The mere fact that it had been turned on (probably a day or two before) suggests it may have just leaked overnight in the very low temperatures resulting in failure and partial flooding. Hopefully not an expensive repair.

This, unfortunately.
I can understand fans of other clubs, many of whom will have very little knowledge of the exact circumstances, suggesting foul play.
I can even understand Pars fans joking about it as if it were deliberate.
But I cannot understand why anyone who claims to support DAFC is spreading and giving oxygen to these allegations, which are very serious indeed.
If any DAFC employee were guilty of damaging or misusing the USH such that the match was postponed they would almost certainly lose their job. If any director or manager ordered it they would be sanctioned by the SPFL and would probably have to resign.
Does anyone really think the "reward" of a couple of weeks' delay in playing a (winnable) match is worth the disruption, costs and lost revenue associated with postponement, plus the repair costs to the USH and pitch? If they do, perhaps they don`t know much about what is involved in running a football club.

I`d imagine the piping is PVC. They`ll need to dig down where it is and replace that piece of pipe. I imagine it`s reasonably deep to avoid getting forked but that means it may be challenging to get that bit of the pitch in decent condition quickly, especially if it`s filled with water.

It is possible that two pieces of pipe have come apart, therefore causing a leak. We have an irrigation system in our garden and our pipes do separate in adverse weather.

Do the same as gambling sites - identity check/proof on every user, disallow multiple accounts and hold to account comments made by people.
The scrutiny of gambling sites these days is insane, yet social media sites can do as they please…now you have a major increase in racism, sexism, homophobia, right wing/terrorist slanted comments etc etc.
It really isnt that difficult, but they dont want to do it as they will believe it hinders “free speech”

At the last home game a lot of us in the South Stand were commenting on how soft the part of the ground that flooded looked and how it was breaking up. There are people on here that will dig themselves into their trench . Fair enough . Defend the club to the hilt. Which I guess is understandable up to a point . We have rigged the game . We’ve essentially cheated . Now maybe it’s just dark arts and part of the game but it’s not a great look imo.
Is that what we’ve become ?
Wooft, you`ve had a howler there. I can`t believe any Pars fan would come out with such an accusation and actually mean it. Wouldn`t blame the club if they took exception in some way. In the bin with this sort of pi#h.

Standard reply when folk are called out. It was only banter.
I`ll give you the benefit of the doubt, but it wasn`t clever. I doubt if anyone connected with the Pars thought it was funny.
We got enough pelters from fans of other teams without any Pars fans giving them more ammunition......

It wasn’t over the top. Folk on here regularly claim to be fishing when they get challenged on the rubbish they say.
I suppose we should take your word for it but nobody should expect everyone, or even most folk in a group to know an anonymous poster well enough to assume they are joking.
Easy cop out....I was fishing.

With regard to the comments about the burst pipe, I would imagine that turning the water off would be the first priority. I doubt if digging the pitch up to locate the leak would be sensible since it may leave a large section requiring repair. If the remaining water in the system is not being pumped it may not be a problem therefore cease using the system and repair it in the close season.

Doubt there will be enough water left in the system anyway pretty sure it works the same way as a central heating boiler for the water to flow throughout the system it would need to be under pressure so as soon as the pipe failed then which ever side of the pipe the failure occurred then that’s the way the water is headed which would explain the hole that’s been left in the playing surface at least that’s my understanding of it but I could be wrong
Come on ye pars ⚽️

Given the cold temperatures due in the run up to this Saturday’s match, and the USH most likely goosed for the foreseeable (?), what chance the game going ahead…

Normally with this type of system there will be a number of loops that go back to a manifold. Normally you can isolate the leaking circuit at the valves on the manifold and leave the rest in operation

Temps due to stay a few degrees above freezing Friday into Saturday, and a balmy 6-7C late morning Saturday, so hopefully won`t need it!

I see the reserve match away to Dundee Utd today has been cancelled due to a frozen pitch. Not sure what sort of side we would have managed to get out, but it`s probably a blessing.

Indeed I did. I believe strongly that if someone has identified wrongdoing, they should report it to the appropriate authorities.
In this case, an anonymous Dunfermline supporter posted on a public forum that one or more people at the club had engaged in "cheating" behaviour to have a match postponed. At a time when fans of other clubs were making similar allegations, this post from someone who (one would have reasonably assumed) had Dunfermline`s interests at heart was fanning the flames of rumour and conspiracy.
Of course, we are now told that it was all just a fishing expedition and a big joke. Many people have worked hard to restore the club`s reputation after the dark days leading to administration, and I certainly don`t find it funny that a Dunfermline fan should risk damaging it in this way.
BTW, I would have loved to hear David Cook's response to such an accusation ...

Yes looks like it. However I am adult enough to accept it. I will even take the time to apologise to you because that's what adults do when they get it wrong.
You on the other hand fooked up big style and admitting it is beyond you.
You are now trapped in a spiral of deflection attempts that are failing miserably.
Best just hands up and stop digging the hole.

There`s not a whiff of sarcasm or "fishing" about either of these posts. Looks like someone made an @rse of themselves, was called out on it, shat their pants and is now trying to backtrack. Now that`s embarrassing.

Like I said further up, whether you were fising or not, lambasting your own club is never a clever look. Folk would have thought better of you if you`d recognised your mistake and held up your hand and apologised for it.
