I thought he looked quite usefull.....only 22.......
BUT BUT what was the scrap all about with one of his team mates ????
Maybe a disruptive element.......
McIntyre got his team "Thugged Up" for the second half of the season ?????

Hylton was much more at fault for the scrap.
In how bird felt with us, he dominated but Breen aside for the majority of the game he had nobody to in our back 3 who could match him and Breen wasn’t assigned to him at alll

Looks like Hylton got right in his face wagging his finger presumably for not passing to him and Byrd just loses it big time shoving his head against Hyltons and had to be restrained by Breen. I cant help but think if left punches would have been thrown by both Arbroath players and we would have seen 2 reds.

My thoughts also. Breen was the real sportsman on this occasion. Other players would have watched the entertainment.

Better players would have let them get at each other, even make a few subtle comments trying to encourage it. Maybe the arbroath players would have still got involved quickly enough to stop it be worse but the main point our players should have is making ensure the ref was aware. What was to gain from Breen, and the others who joined later from breaking it up?

I think most folk who see two people taking swings at each other would instinctively try to defuse the situation…simple as that. To make a conscious decision to do nothing as it may be beneficial to the team would not have crossed Breens mind.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

I don’t think it did, it was a normal human reaction, but a more cynical response would have been better, I can’t blame him much for his reaction, but if he stood back and 2 reds followed I’d be pretty happy with him.

Breen`s actions were firmly in line with the club`s recent mission statement on sportsmanlike behaviour. Well done, lad.

I think you`re right, Oz, but it could have back-fired. Some refs might have booked Breen for getting involved. It wasn`t clear what triggered the fight between the two Arbroath players. Some verbal interplay presumably? Bird seemed to be quite an aggressive character.

🤣😂🤣
My bad - I don`t have a subscription to the Courier, Lux. I saw a player had left in my news feed and assumed it was Bird, as he was sent off. Should have read it more carefully. 😔😔
Not your average Sunday League player.
