Another training injury. What on earth is going on? It’s becoming far too common now.

I’d imagine there’s been a need to rush people back which is deteriorating there fitness and liability to injury once their back

It’s a consequence of not have the correct squad balance in place at the start of the season. Had we strengthened accordingly we wouldn’t be in this position.
Let’s Hope Benny, Breen, Todd
& Comrie continue progress this week, we need them back.

To be fair the amount of concussions he has had recently maybe a few weeks to properly recover is required. Not his fault this squad is a shambles.

Is the training too intense leading to those injuries?

Really got to question the training techniques now - another player back from injury lasts a game and is out again for 6 weeks….its not game time thats done that, it must be something in training

Can you explain the link between a calf strain and concussion please?

I dont even think its that now - reckon the intensity in training is too much for this time of the season. To be picking up muscle injuries in training is a real worry.

McPake has said training, etc is essentially the same as last season.
I think the injuries are a viscous circle. We lose the most important players, so others try to over compensate, making them more prone to injury, putting more pressure on those returning and so on.
Also players trying to step up a level, pushing themselves too far, trying to react to quicker pace, etc

I`m sure someone posted recently that they had attended a training session and he didn`t think it was intense enough!

I don`t think for one moment that McPake wanted to bring all those young boys in , but he`s not getting the money to bring better, more experienced guys in
I got it from a good source that Cardle wanted to sign ,Mcpake wanted him , and he said he wasn`t asking for a lot of money, but Cook said they couldn`t afford it
I`m not saying Joe would have been our saviour but it kinda let`s you know where we are money wise and that the managers hands are kinda tied

If we are so short of money why did we turn down a six-figure fee for Edwards?
It`s amazing how many folk in the know post on here. We`ve had someone who knows David Cook`s salary, someone who knows what Wotherspoon was offered and now someone who knows what Cardle was offered. Is it the same person who leaks all this confidential information?

It`s amazing how many people on here don`t realise that football players are real people , even stay in the city , that these people actually have friends and acquaintances that they talk to and tell things

I certainly realise football players are real people. That`s why I don`t throw abuse at them on a public forum unlike some who seem to think they are characters in a soap opera.
If someone at the club gives out confidential information about salaries are they happy for it to be shared on a public forum or is it second- third- or fourth-hand by the time it reaches you?
If money`s the problem it doesn`t make sense to refuse a bid of £100k+ for one of our players.

It`s perhaps not that much off a problem Eck , but we work on a budget and perhaps that budgets spent, we don`t need to sell but we don`t have money to spend on players , we are relying on what we have to see us through the season with a couple of young loanees to fill some gaps until players come back
I still think Mcpakes the man for the job and was merely pointing out that he probably hasn`t the money for the players he would like
