Two goals and an assist from KRH, but Jak has been outstanding.

Jakubiak has been absolutely fantastic. Think he suits this kind of game well where you expect united to have more of the ball and hold a higher line

That’s jakubiaks best game of his career. First time I’ve seen anything to suggest he’s capable. Trick is can he repeat this or even half this level of performance on a regular basis…

Not quite every game, to be fair BPP. In fact we are all raving about him tonight because his performance was slightly unusual for him. But nothing inspires confidence like the ball hitting the net and Jak was instrumental in two of the goals.

Maybe that`s his best position creating chances for strikers like Todd.

Agreed. KRH`s midfield interception, the interplay between KRH and Jak, and the finish were sublime. Jak drew four United players to him before making that critical pass—outstanding!

If you genuinely haven’t “seen anything to suggest he’’s capable” then I can only judge you have no clue about football. I spoke to a couple of Jags supporting pals after the game in December and we agreed he was a talented player we all liked who had terrible luck in front of goal.

Have to agree. He’s not a natural finisher but anyone who knows football can see what attributes he brings

I’ll take him not scoring if he can perform like that.
Will be interesting to see how he performs until the end of the season, playing for a contract now.
I liked the set up last night, when kane is back I’m not sure where you play Jak.

Maybe you start one, ask them to burst a gut for as long as possible then a simple switch after 60 or so?
Good point. Worked well for Postecoglu at Celtic.
There might be games where you want to play them both and change formation ?

Definitely, although if it`s a 2 I`m undecided which would be the deeper of them. Both have their qualities. Probably Jak, as I feel Kane is the better finisher.

He was sensationsal. Held the ball up brilliantly allowing the team to push up the park and his involvement in the goals was sublime. He has really set the bar with that performance, was unplayable and deserved a goal.

He has the ability to create something out of nothing, which we saw with the first two goals, so while he might not be a 20 goal a season striker, he looks like he`ll be worth his weight in gold in other ways. Having Todd and KRH feeding off him might be just what he needs to kick-on.
Really pleased for him this morning because he`s been threatening that kind of performance and turned it out in front of the cameras in a convincing win against the league leaders. Well done.

What a good ploy to sub player with yellow card at half time.

Agree on the McCann comment, he stood out even more than usual as the level of performance from the others had improved. Think summers was a boy playing men’s fitba before he went off too.
If Jak can keep this improvement in form for the remaining games we should defo try and retain him, Kane seems to have fitness issues which might mean it’s too risky to try and keep him so we’ll need another striker brought in.
Just hope there’s budget and it’s not reliance on moving on some players who still have another year on their deals.

I thought when Summers had to go off that Moffat would come on in his place Berkey. McCann needs a rest I think and didn`t he play for the reserves during the week too?

Moffat would have made more sense for that role Kelty.
Mccann defo needs something and I’m not sure it’s a rest, maybe a change of scenery next season, he’s just not got it for us.

I thought Moffat was the obvious choice to replace summers, but McCann put in more than enough of a performance to not question the decision. He offered far more protection to the defence than summers did for a start
