Some of you know that I have connections with Barrow-in-Furness and its perennially disappointing football club, Barrow AFC.
I was amazed to read that Barrow have just struck a shirt sponsorship deal with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, which is really thinking outside the box!

It got me thinking about whether there is an untapped market of international sponsorship deals that other clubs, even DAFC, could tap into, instead of the usual local firms (no harm to SRJ, KDM, Purvis etc who have been great for DAFC.).
Obviously, the petrodollars of Emirates, Qatar, etc, will always go to the megaclubs, but there could be other countries, provinces, and regions that want to raise their profiles and attract tourists or investment. What about the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, for example? :)
