Can we conclude that this is something like the favoured starting 11 since they are supposedly going to get an hour?

Out are Todd, Hoggan, Margetts and at least one trialist.

In are Ngwenya and Wotherspoon.

Only 2 clubs scored less than us last season.

We are still in that same position what does the club need to see to understand we need to try and push the boat out a little on a couple of creative players.

Or a striker who is fit and can score goals.

We changed most of our team prior to them scoring…

No big deal in my eyes. Start to get concerned if we struggle against Spartans.

McCann played his best games under John Hughes. That’s when he last hit a patch of goals.

Never kicked in since, he’s a great lad but he should be further along in his development

McCann always tends to start the season relatively well then about 5 games in he disappears into oblivion only to reappear the next season.

Interesting to know what mcpake thinks he’ll learn from these pre season games that he didn’t learn from last season in terms of formations and our lack of attacking threat, it’s not all down to the personel, it’s how they are asked to play.

Still it’s an improvement on east fife so the tragectory means we might win our next game.

Partially but there has to be drive and some desire from the player.

Understand what you’re good at and so on. He’s no just played under 1 manager he’s not been fancied as a regular by a few.

Maybe controversial but I find McPake uninspiring.

Even when we won league 1 it wasn’t great football, last season yeah we had injuries but the football again was poor.

5-3-2 is not for me. Get on the front foot and attack, 2 up top should be a must.

My mistake we don’t play 2 out and out strikers

We play 1 behind so it’s like 4-2-3-1 or 5-2–2-1

4-4-2

No messing about, passing sideways and backwards. Get it punted out the park if there`s any danger, and lumped into the box as soon as possible at every opportunity. About time we had some excitement at East End Park

He scored 4 goals all season under Hughes. Following season (2022/23) he scored 10 goals. Some slevering pihs.

Did anyone commenting here actually see the game? All I have seen are discussions of last season`s formation and tactics and the shortcomings of the usual suspects.

How did the new signings and the trialists play? From the official report on COWS the equalising goal was a result of a good cross from a trialist and a flying header from McCann. Can anyone confirm?

was one of the trialists with the cross, Adam Supyk, 20yo from New Zealand but has a UK passport. had trials with Stoke and Brentford last year, a month ago the Daily Record said there was interest in him from Scottish Premiership and Championship teams.

I remember thinking he was fortunate not to be hooked at halftime against QP at Hampden then went onto have an absolute stormer in the 2nd half with a goal of the season effort thrown in for good measure.

Think that is perhaps the frustration, glimpses that there is an undoubted talent there coupled with the physical side - he is built like an adonis - but consistency still an issue?

Our goal was really good. Sharp directs cross. Been a while since I have seen such a good cross from left midfield. Ok the right back is off it but if the strikers have that service then it will be interesting times. Nice!

I think thats what annoys everyone the most, is the boy has talent no doubt, but its the consistency, i do believe a loan in a different enviroment could do him the world of good

Supyk is an interesting one. He’s playing sub-A League level in NZ and - especially in NZ - if you’re a Kiwi and half-decent the Phoenix will pick you up and give you a contract.

Good luck to the lad anyway with his trials.
