The attendance announced at the game was exactly a thousand more than was announced over the loudspeaker

I heard it as 1917 but although our end was pretty busy there wasn’t a good home support, and that’s not a slant on Livingston.
COWs has it as 1917, too.

Sorry what I meant to say was the amount announced over the tannoy was a thousand more than the official attendance in the press of just over 900 - I suspect though that the lower figure was closer to the truth. It was a worryingly small Pars support for a game half an hour down the road on a glorious sunny afternoon on the first league Saturday of the season.

Don`t know how you can think there was only 900 at the game? The Pars end was busier than I expected it to be and the home stand was reasonably well attended given Livingston`s reputation. The fact they ran out of tickets at the away end tells you that there were more Dunfermline fans than they were expecting.
