Looking forward to the Raith game
Topic Originator: Paralex
Date:   Sat 7 Sep 23:31

Six days to go until we face our nearest rivals again and it`s shaping up to be a big night out in West Fife. It would be great to get some pre match build up from Pars fans, knowledgeable about the current Rovers playing squad and new manager.

We`ll maybe find out a bit tomorrow when they face Ayr at Somerset Park.

Agree wee eck, you don’t always get a new manager bounce and performances might suffer while players adapt to a bew way of playing etc. Really could do with raith getting a doing today.

Even though we generally lose more than we win, you just never quite know when this team will produce the type of performance we did against United last season.

Hopefully another new face in this week who can play wide with quality and it starts to feel like our best chance to beat them for a while.

I wonder if Raith or Ayr are fielding weakened teams because it`s a minor cup game?

Doesn`t look like it, Paralex. 3-2 Ayr; Dowds and Oakley, 15 mins to go.

3-2 FT; although Raith shaded possession Ayr had far more shots on target and Dabrowski was the busier keeper by far according to BBC stats. Raith played 3-5-2 formation to Ayr`s 4-4-2 apparently.

Doesn`t tell us that much, apart from the fact that Raith weren`t able to protect a decent lead. Dangerous going forward but vulnerable in defence. We can go into the game with some aspiration for a win.

Maybe it also emphasises how good a point that was we gained against Ayr last week.

Really? The OP was talking about our home match v Rovers this coming Friday, not the Challenge Cup game at Somerset Park this afternoon.

Read the second and third posts. What`s all the fuss about? Do you have copyright over match reports?

Any latest developments on players availability and likely team for tomorrow? I`ll be looking for KRH coming onto a game soon. But also hoping he can steer clear of injury. With McCann rampaging down the left flank and KRH on the right and Kane in the middle, with Otoo (and hopefully Matty Todd in a week or two), having a goal threat from midfield we might begin to put a bit of fear into the opposition.

Can’t see Matty Todd back in first team action for a few weeks yet. Once fit he will need two or three reserve games to get even close to being match fit. Prob near end of Oct I would guess.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Let`s hope we put in a good performance. Every game is different, so last seasons results are meaningless.

The manager said he was hopeful he’d be in the squad for next Saturday providing he gets the all clear at an appointment on Monday next week. Likely from the bench and only for a 15-20 min spell if he did make it on the park I would imagine though.

I’m the same. Since 5-0 win against QoS to win league 1, only 1 win (2-0 Ayr Utd) live in about 20 games since. Never expected when I left that day it would turn so bad. Hopefully a win tonight, I’m in hospitality as well.
