Alloa come into the game with 3 wins and a draw from their last 5 games, they have only conceded twice in those 5 , 8 goals for and 2 against.
We have 1 win,a draw and 3 losses,5 goals for , 5 against,

Walking a line between making money and not wanting to actively put people off going in person? Taking into account that more than one person can watch on a telly that`s paid for a PPV. For example, one recent match me and the kids plugged a laptop into the telly as opposed to going and spending £40+ because it was a midweek & late night for one of them.

I really do not know what to expect from the game tonight , as everytime I think we have turned a corner , its back to the same old crap we give cheap goals away and afetr we are a goal down we buck up
we need to start tonight at 100mph ! and take the game to them
If we score first we have half a chance !
under normal circumstances we really should be beating Alloa
So here`s hoping

I wouldn`t have Mehmet as the number one choice for Dunfermline at championship level but he`s not responsible for the absolute poison we play most of the time.
Chalmers is absolutely fine at this level doing a job alongside more progressive players.
Wighton has regressed admittedly but again, in a more confident team he`s a fine squad member at this level.
That`s, what, 3 players out of 23/24 as well.
Which players have got better under the current coaching staff? There`s plenty talent and potential there but name me one that`s got better?

Too many unproven or not consistently good enough at this level.

When assessing McPakes recruitment I think it’s only fair to bear in mind the pool he had to choose from which was slim pickings basically.
We were very late and well behind others in signing players and missed out on a lot of targets McPake would’ve wanted over what he ended up bringing in.
He still has a duty to bring in players that will improve the squad so isn’t immune to criticism by any means but think we just need to recall the whole saga earlier on.

Just home and honestly that was crap.
I’ll give Sutherland and Cooper a pass as I still see them as young and learning but McCann apart from his goal was poor, Wighton went on for a sleep, KRH hit the first man too many times (at least he showed some emotion when being subbed), Chalmers could be a good footballer as long as it’s walking football-slowly slowly easy does it.
Mebude looks like he could do something, I’ll give him a bit of time cos I think you’ve got to take into consideration where he’s came from/recovered from.
Matty Todd looks out of form. He’s a much better player than he’s showing-I’m confident he’ll get through it.
We should have won by 4 but we’re shockingly poor up front.

Not sure what to say about that. Alloa were poor, our finishing was desperate, we deserved to win. Comrie was excellent, Benedictus dominated, I was happy to see Fisher on the park - he`s one player who must have a chance of a career if he can get a run of games.
Midfield with Hamilton and Chalmers is never going to be creative. We did make and miss a bucket load, but mostly through Alloa errors.
Not confident about beating Airdrie on Saturday, Kane`s availability key.

If we don’t get our fans and therefore the board on McPake back we will pull through this season just fine. PS I think Cooper can be a player - I hope he gets a 2nd season.

In the second half just before he was subbed he ran down the main stand side. If he`d looked up Cooper was alone in the middle but he ran to the bye line then fell to the ground. Just wish his decision making was a bit better.

That was not a good performance from McCann last night. Yes he took his goal well but he’s so wasteful! We were lucky we were playing against Alloa last night, any team in the championship would have given us real problems.
His first touch let him down numerous times, he missed more than one goal scoring opportunity and the main one he missed was a shocker. How tall is he? 6’1ish??? Cos he jumps about 5’8 and the timing of his movement 🤷🏻♂️ he’ll move towards a high ball and it’ll go over his head… I just don’t get it.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he needs glasses but he’s never been to an optician.

Alloa didn`t play well because we didn`t allow them to. We look much better going through the middle more than down the wings. McCann has 12 goals in him this season hopefully more. I agree he does need to look up at times when an attempt on goal is not on for him. He needs to improve his decision making chose the right ball in the final third. I believe that we are a better team now than when we came up from League 1. We definitely look a stronger side physically. You could see that against Alloa. We do need to be more clinical, but we had more attempts on target and made the keeper work a bit more last night.

McCann is the absolute epitome of league 1 level decision making. You’d think you could teach and improvement in that but it appears you can’t.
He has improved tho, fancy he would do better in league 1 than he did last time we were in league 1.
To be fair the goal and the assist means he’s been more productive in the last month than the rest of 2024 combined in the league.

Am I right in thinking we get a minimum of £40K for making it to the semi-final? About time we made even a little bit of money from the cups!

Yep. 40k minimum. 60k losing finalists, £100k for the winners.

Who’s obsessed more rusty?
Those on this site who despite all the evidence continually insist he’s just about to come good or those who after 4-5 years have seen enough of ineffective performances backed up by the stats?

Definitely you!
If you can`t see the difference with choosing to be optimistic about a young, hardworking lad or constantly putting folk down like a dug with a bone then whatever man. I`m not going to lose any sleep over it either way. I`m perfectly happy being optimistic, it`s a pretty solid life choice. Doesn`t mean I don`t think we have issues though.

What about the fact that he never, ever posts anything positive about the team he claims to support.
I`ll gladly take a positive optimistic stance over his.

That is also true da but thats just some peoples opinions 🤷🏻♂️ Id like to think the majority have a balanced and reasonable viewpoint on here where they can call out the positives and negatives.
There are some though that tilt only 1 way or the other. Berkey isn’t alone in that aspect…..

This is also true in fairness. The best posters to read come across as totally balanced. We all want the same thing but when posts tip over into being either personal or persistently negative then I switch off. (In the main, clearly not now 😂)

Lewis McCann played fairly well last night, well taken goal and worked hard for his team mates throughout. He`s a big strong lad as evidenced when the Alloa player went barging into him and bounced off. I`d like to see him show a bit more aggression and get more confidence. During his time here he has bagged 25 goals, in 150 games. Most of the time he`s played he`s been isolated as a centre forward or been stuck out on the wing, playing in teams that don`t create many chances.
I still feel he will come good

We effectively got £10k from last night’s win. Losing quarter finalists get £30k. Minimum prize money is now £40k.

I would never doubt McCanns work rate or desire. He always gives his all and credit to him for that.
I just think that he done one thing well against Alloa. He timed his run well and then made a good finish but generally his overall game was poor.
I think he could still come good as well but his time for coming good is getting smaller. 150 senior appearances, he should be further on than he is.

Lewis’ attitudes and commitment is first class and he is brave too.
He just needs to learn to play with his head up a bit more
It`s bloody tough being a legend

Sorry but the laddie has had long enough and had enough chances to progress, the management team have run out of ideas how to get anything out of him.
No instinct for a forward and clueless when he has got to think about what he is doing.
It is not rocket science why we are struggling to score goals when we have forwards such as McCann and Wighton getting game time.
I might be a bit harsh but I would put KRH in the same boat, done nothing at this level and I can’t remember the last time he actually took on and beat a defender.

100% goal he scored when thru most pars fans wouldn’t shrugged shoulders if he had ballooned over the bar never seen a player with his head down so much as him - personally technically he is a decent player —- but just lacks the whole self belief - playing in different positions and p*** poor coaching doesn’t help
