Don’t agree with the central midfield pairing. Hopefully I’m wrong but it’s far too slow. We really miss Otoo in that position. I can only guess they’ll be expecting Todd to track back more rather than sit behind Kane.

That`s funny, I thought we had plenty opportunities to shoot last week but some players decided to transfer the responsibility to a team mate and the chance was lost. Nothing to do with formation, more to do with lack of confidence to take a pot at goal.

Lose the first goal and it`s done and dusted, infact i looked back and the last time we got anything from a league game after going behind was the last time at Ayr in the 3-3 game.
Watching Falkirk last night and they were polar opposite of us. Direct football, getting the ball moved out early to wide players with everyone pushing forward and not giving the opposition a minutes peace with the wingers on each side carrying a real threat.
We`d just do it at a canter, use 6 passes when only 2 are needed and allow the opposition the chance to get back behind the ball and regain their shape.
Granted Falkirk have superior wide players to us (most teams in the league do to be fair) but the frustrating thing is it`s in there somewhere - look o at the Raith game - yet we continue to be so passive and have no urgency or aggression in our play what so ever.

Might have been a bad performance yet again but the important thing was that we got our excuse in before kick off so we know who will get blamed for professional players not being able to string 2 passes together while the opposition manage it no problem.

It`s a horrible situation to be in. McPake knows his managerial career is over when he leaves, and the board are too stubborn to sack him.
The fact we`re for sale with allegedly a deal close to closing makes it hurt even more, knowing that we`re effectively in limbo whilst the above takes place.
Just how much damage is either party going to allow before something happens. McPake should just walk at this point if the germans are going to be so stubborn.

I thought that was the worst yet under Mcpake.
We offered nothing, it was just so bad.
Tobi, Bene, Comrie and Otoo were decent enough, the rest were poor.
Any other club would`ve sacked the manager by now, so hopefully, the boardroom unrest clears up quickly as this surely can`t go on.

If McPake walks now he can say he has promoted Dundee and Dunfermline from their respective leagues, that will surely be a positive for a club that feel they deserve to be in the league above (say Inverness). It`s not too bad a CV for a young manager
Obviously there`s the financial risk for him walking away but surely he sees the writing on the wall and knows that if he sticks around he`ll have a relegation on his CV, making him far less attractive to future employers. He`s got to be holding out for the takeover to get a payout but the longer it drags on the worse it is for him in terms of future roles

I doubt he is worried about relegation on his CV. We started the season with one goalkeeper, every signing window under Meggle and the rest of the clownshow was utter horrific. He has been hobbled by those charlatans. The Simpsons episode when the Germans bought Burns`s power plant came true and that will save him. He won`t resign.

I`d have understood the point of all away teams (with the exception of Celtic) losing if we played differently than usual. Unfortunately we were the usual pars team slow, passive and severely lacking creativity. The manager post match interview is the same every week their keeper was quiet but so was Tobi. It`s garbage to watch and as soon as we go behind you can pretty much guarantee the game is done.
c'mon the pars

The facial expressions of Kane after being substituted when talking to McPake were telling.
Directly in his face with a steely determination. No blinking. Looking for answers. Then after taking his place on the bench McPake turning round looking exasperated after the exchange. The signs do not look good in the dressing room if one of the senior players is doing this. Has the dressing room been lost?

I think the dressing room has been lost. Would the players want to play that brutal slow defensive football or attacking high press looking for goals?
I just don’t get McPakes starting 11 when he puts Otto in defence and we have 3 CB’s on the bench. Chalmers and Clay just doesn’t work in midfield.
It’s just boring crap football.
Mon the Pars!

Personally, I think the issue is the league structure. In the Premiership, if you are playing Rangers or Celtic, there is a good chance you are going to beatent beaten 4 times in season. It hardly represents good entertainment, and when the league is virtually a foregone conclusion by Christmas, what is the incentive for fans to go and watch. You have to be a die-hard supporter to watch every Saturday, and there lies the biggest issue. How does a sport like that provide entertainment and attract supporters and investment.
The championship has similar issues. A league identified as competitive in reality for one reason or another produces little excitement and few goals. With a few points separating 3rd or 4th and bottom, it`s little wonder. Most of the games I have been to this season teams are setting up not to lose the game. You can only play as well as the opposition let`s you, and that amounts to poor entertainment value.
The warning signs for the SPFL are there with clubs going into administration. Well supported clubs like Dunfermline, Falkirk, unable to compete at a higher level, struggling financially, just bouncing between divisions. It takes money to gain promotion and more money to stay up. It`s one thing getting promoted. it`s another being able to stay up. It`s the SPFL system that is wrong in my view. I do hope that we bring in investors who can offer a different perspective, challenge the current status quo, and bring in new fresh ideas to the sport, and get it back the spectator sport that it should be.

As much as I agree that we could have a better league structure I don’t know what that got to do with McPake picking Joe Chalmers and Craig Clay in the same team?

To go along with that, more than a few times Bene had his head in his hands at some of the other players and the lack of movement, etc, and more than once was digging out other players.
Why was the manager not doing similar?
If the captain is getting exasperated with our current play, along with Kanes` reaction to being subbed, the signs aren`t good.
The flame still burns

The likes of Kane , Bene and and a couple of others are seasoned pro,s who know the game inside out are getting exasperated with the pathetic tactics we play , then the game is up for Mcpake , let Bene take the team for the rest of season at least he will istill some fight into a hapless lot that look beat every time the opposition score . Bene post match interview is how everyone saw the game but mcpake basically the polar opposite. Bene doesn`t seem bothered about ruffling a few feathers with his post match interviews but actions speak louder than words.

Breath of fresh air when you get some honesty.
Horrible rut the investors have left us in, change is needed but the cowards won`t address it.

If you`re referring to the Bene interview I saw then he was being critical of the players rather than the manager.

Yes but the manager was trying to say there was nothing in the game which wasnt true. Bene said we weren't the better side which is how the majority saw the game. Someone is not calling it how it was and I don`t think that person is Bene.

I wasn`t at the game so I don`t have an opinion but none of the comments and reports I`ve read suggest we were the better side! Why would the manager not say that if he thought it was the case?

That`s a typo and meant to read weren`t and he said as much throughout his interview which if you listen to mcpake it`s completely different.

If our manager who on more than one occasion this season comes out with we were the better team week in week out ,then this confims he needs to go

What about the posters that say the same thing over and over and over again?
