So much for the supposed white Knight Jim Ratcliffe, binning Fergie, putting up prices, begging for public money to finance the redevelopment of Old Trafford ,when he is worth 30billion .

Shocking really ..Who in their right mind would buy a football club .. 30 billion won`t last long salton .. modern football players think they are film stars .. cap all wages to £500/week then most clubs would maybe survive

We are forever shaped by the Children we once were

What do people expect? Football clubs used to be for the community but now they`re owned by people who have no interest in the club other than making money. If someone will pay £60-70 then it`s common sense to charge that rather than £5. I`m sure it was said a while back that the big clubs could let people in for FREE and still turn a profit. It`s a complete disgrace.

As has been mentioned on various threads on here, the big issue we have in Scotland is having to compete with the English leagues and the billion pound TV deals. Why play for the Pars getting £1000 a week when you can play at a similar level down the road for £4000 a week? That`s why we either rely on home grown youth or seasoned pros headed for retirement. I suppose there`s the option of "do well in Scotland and attract attention in England" but there`s been harder since Brexit.

The bigger clubs in England have large waiting lists for season tickets so the club owners won`t really care about protests. Look at Aston Villa charging £90 for champions league games. The choice is watch top quality players in top quality stadiums at ridiculous prices or watch on one of the channels streaming the games. I watch a non league club who have sadly been relegated the past two seasons. The quality of the football is pretty poor but it is only £150 for my season ticket. I have recently watched a game at both Valley Parade and East End Park. The game at VP was an English League 2 game where a season ticket is about £200 if you are renewing and single match tickets are £20 if bought before match day and £25 on the day. I enjoyed both games with the VP game probably being of better quality although my previous visit the match was utter guff. I think what I am trying to say is you get what you pay for. In England every club outside the EPL is running at a loss in a lot of cases massively. The thing is the supporters of these clubs want better players, better playing surfaces, better facilities at the stadiums. Someone has to pay.

When you think about it, we pay £22 quid or whatever it is, to watch a fairly poor product. There is little in the way of skill or entertainment, I go but it`s been a while since I didn`t feel short changed. Probably an entrance fee closer to £15 would feel more appropriate.

Charging £66 for a Manchester United game feels about right when you think of the quality difference. It`s a lot more than 3 times the quality of product.

Of course, the game down there is pretty much dead for real local supporters, it`s all just a tourist spectacle these days

Not having concessions for kids seems pretty short-sighted.

Under a model where you need to encourage youngsters along so the come back when there older yes. but under a model where you get the next generation involved via tv and computer games, you can afford to wait on them coming spending a fortune when there older to get to once in a lifetime opportunity to watch `there` team.

£66 x 70,000 = £4,620,000 per game but kids can’t get a cheap seat…

Honestly, folk say “games gone” far too often but if we’re at the point where clubs can’t recognise the importance of accessibility for the next generation then the game really is on the road to gone.

Man U are pretty accessible to kids, on TV.

They`re not trying and haven`t for a long time built their fan base from local kids going along to games out of chance or even local dads taking there kids along
