It might be airdrie’s results that push the club to act on mcpake rather than our own.

Hopefully Livi win for both keeping Airdrie well away from us and also clawing back Falkirk to win the league.

Two. It`s depressing being "saved" by a team with 6 points from 17 games.

Can’t rely on Airdrie alone, have a relegation playoff to be mindful of as well if we continue to struggle and can’t see us getting through that.

Bad night for Rhys McCabe, that result will probably cost him his job. On the other hand, that result will keep James McPake in a job for now. Makes you sick.

I know they had a pretty big turnover of players but that’s some collapse airdrie are experiencing this season.

What do folk think about McCabe now?

On the one hand he got Airdrie promoted and then to the playoffs, but this season he`s getting them relegated.

Fordyce was the brains last season. Not sure if it was a falling out and yes they did lose a lot of the players but McCabe wasn`t the mastermind some folk were giving him credit for.

Just back from the game, Airdrie really down to bare bones but my word they were poor. Chris Mochrie was playing as their number 9.

Seem to be really lacking any level of confidence, look really shaky defensively with not much in attack either.

Cannot see them clawing it back.

C'mon Ye Pars!

Why is McCabe not playing this season?
He seemed to be a major help for them on the pitch the last couple of seasons.

I don`t know if that`s true or not and I`d still be prepared to give McCabe a shot at the Pars, but only if Fordyce came with him.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

I think sometimes it shows how much we over hype people in the game. He did a good job on getting Airdrie up and having a season like they did last year, but Ian Murray recruited a lot of that squad. Although McCabe wins the plaudits, it really is a Management Team so if you start losing good people from it and you lose but can’t recruit good players then a manager on his own can’t solve it.

It looks like their summer recruitment was awful (and all the players came from Jackie McNamara’s agency), so you have to question if he can actually build a successful team, it would seem that he can’t.

When we played Airdrie in the 1-0 game, a lot of P&B posters were saying the loser gets Ian Murray. I know it’s tongue and cheek but if someone like Murray was to take that job then they really are playing career Russian roulette

They rolled the dice on moving away from the hybrid model at the end of last season with the last of the players on part-time contracts moving on.

Be interesting where they go from here, seems inevitable they`ll go down and when you see their crowds you wonder how they sustain FT football in the Championship let alone the league below.

Interesting point, what must they have….gates of about 1,500ish. Surely they can’t sustain FT football with that.

It’s funny, because growing up during the 90’s, we had some rivalry with them and I always remember them to having similar gates to us. That must have just been me being young I suppose, or they’ve had a huge drop off over the last 20-30 years.

I think McCabe proved he is a good manager. When you have to do a major rebuild, on a shoe string budget ,then it’s not going to be easy.

After the success of the past two seasons I’m glad airdrie have stuck with him. He deserves that even if they go down cos they’re much further ahead than even they would have envisaged.

They should have done the decent honourable thing and died years ago
