We are all still talking about the new manager and how well the players dug in today.
How about a thread thanking John McLaughlan for his efforts today.
Well done, John. Good job.

Agree. Can`t have been easy coming in and having to sort out a team at such short notice.

Indeed, a tough gig for him, thrown in at the deep end when he`s already doing a lot with the background development.
Well done, about as hard as it gets for a stand in, and the team put real pressure on F*lkirk.
Was over from Malta for Christmas, only my 4th game of the season at the game (get decent holidays) , the rest I watch on Pars TV, but can never beat going to the game. Great stuff.

I noticed that he took full advantage of the stoppages in play to get instructions across to the players which I didn`t see McPake doing much of.Credit to him and the players put a shift in for him.

Set up the team as well as he could tonight and they worked their socks off. The lack of quality on the ball is evident, hopefully whoever comes in can build some patterns of play going forward.

Reading his post match comments.
He comes over really well. I like his forward looking approach both with the players & the team.
Thankyou Mr McLaughlan.

The performance was pretty shambolic at times but he had the team trying to attack and the determination was night and day ahead of what was happening under McPake, deserves huge credit.
I don`t wanna go down like disco.

Brave decisions made in going with Todd and Cooper in the middle of the park and going with no width.
Not everything came off but we got a point and it feels like the late goal meant it felt like a point won rather than 2 dropped. We also came back 3 times.
Outside of set pieces we still don’t look like scoring. If the new manager can improve that with this current squad he’ll be doing well.

I will break with tradition and agree with parrot. John set the team up really well last night. He’s come in and in a couple of days identified a better system for our current personnel than Mcpake was able to do in months. It might not have been the worst idea to give John the job til the end of the season. Seems the club has other ideas tho.

Yes, well done John and the backroom staff, superb. I listened to his Interview on YouTube after the game and it was very positive. Thank You.

We lost 3 goals and 2 of our goals were penalties, one of which was soft……credit where its due that the team didn’t give up and he clearly motivated them till the end, but lets not pretend that Friday night was a tactical masterclass of any sorts.

we lost 3 goals, fought back well to gain two penalties while attacking in the box.
didn`t even give up after losing another goal 5 minutes to go and kept going scoring again in injury time.
me thinks well done guys !! :o)
yesa agree a lot of work to do, but thats a major step against the League leaders.

If we can stop losing goals from set plays we will see a big difference. Although you`d have thought our previous management team with 2 of them being defenders would have tried that but there was no evidence to show we worked on that.
McLaughlan can enjoy his Lanzarote holiday knowing he saved us from a thudding of the manky mob.
c'mon the pars

For me the first goal was a miscommunication between bene and fogarty, dare I say it fogarty had seen more game time these last few months alongside bene then maybe things like that wouldn’t happen.
If the new manager can get a more settled 11 it will help everyone and certainly help with cohesion and understanding.

I don’t think anyone has said it’s a tactical masterclass. Aye I did say I think he got it right for reasons previously stated but that’s a bit different to a tactical masterclass. He just kept it simple to me

It will be interesting to see what happens with the youth development now. New guys are very much first team focused from what I`ve heard.
Would be a nice side show but should never be to the detriment of the first team.

I would doubt that any potential investor would dismiss youth development out of hand.
I would hope that a full and realistic assessment would be made in terms of the opportunities and risks for any future strategy of the club. Anyone putting in their own money would be looking for a return on that at some point. There are clear opportunities in terms of the potential of the club. Dunfermline is now a city and will attract other investments. As a club, a successful team has the ability to bring in 10,000 supporters for every home game. If sport analytics is the way forward, it is the opportunity to showcase tge technology to the country in addition to the future potential of VR. I suspect the game and the manner in which we view it will change rapidly in the coming years with the opportunity to view the game from anywhere in the world. This would include being anywhere in the stands, be more interactive, with player and manager engagement during the game, live updates on player stats etc. A much more immersive match day experience It`s a look into the future rather than into the past. It might be a way for the club to lead in this type of technology.
