Last minute winner for Morton so we are now 5 adrift of Hamilton who have a game in hand.

Many, many thanks, Partick Thistle, happy new year to you too. Just hope they`re deflated for Saturday. But, nothing like a challenge to gear us up for the New Year. Just been watching the Alex Ferguson documentary. Faint-hearted, he certainly wasn`t. He knew how to get players to win games.

Hamilton 5pts ahead, game in hand v Rovers.

Morton 7pts ahead.

Morton v Hamilton next game.

After Saturday theres 16 games left, we left it too late to bin McPake probably, we are running out of games, either way we are living in hope, let`s hope one of those teams has some kind of meltdown.....

The new man has a hell of a job to be safe. Play offs later more likely.

Sadly, I think you’re right and I hope it doesn’t come back to bite us on the bum, i’m sure most of us would have had him away in Octoberish.

I still hang on to the hope that Hamilton are worse than us, fingers crossed they are 🤞🏻

We are probably looking to pick up double our current points tally to be safe, 16+32=48. Just under half a season left so no one to blame but ourselves if we can`t stay up.

Doug Imrie would have done a job for us. Reckon he had less of a budget at Morton and I think he has a weaker squad and can get results!

Yip and either Morton or Hamilton or both will gain another point on us on Saturday unless tidser has an immediate impact.

Wonder if Tom cruise applied for the job?

We could quite easily spend the last quarter of the season getting ready for the playoffs.

Can only get better for us than 2024 surely! 9 wins from 38 with only 4 sides having a worse points per game over the calendar year. Hopefully Tidser and co can turn this round.

Can’t see us getting out of 9th. We need a decent manager who can get some better players through the door in January to rescue this. Not some rookie from Kelty. We are in deep trouble make no mistake.

At least season ticket prices should come down in League 1. Every cloud.

It all hinges on us getting our away form sorted otherwise we are down I reckon. It’s no points away from home that’s going to relegate us!!

We will stay up even if we have to stay up via the playoffs as no league 1 team has enough quality to challenge us

I`ve been caught out twice, thinking like that in play off games v Queens Park and the Blue Brazil. 😒

I looked at the league table after the F***irk game. Looked at the upcoming fixtures and thought Our Goose is Cooked.

Unless we have a massive turnaround in fortunes we are likely to be 9th this year.

Queens Park was because several of the players knew they were leaving and after a year of constant abuse they gave the abusers two fingers.

Parrot there are more players likely to be leaving at the end of this season than the season we played Queen’s Park.

I don’t like us in the playoffs, it’s too much of a lottery, most of the squad will be
Punted and will know it and aside from Kane we have nothing in the squad to unsettle or worry the opposition. They can sit tight and hope to get a 0-0 at east end then will fancy beating us in their home leg.

It all hinges who we can get in the door in January and I don’t necessarily mean that in terms of somehow getting 8th, that would be a bonus.

A couple of signings and a manager who can get the most out of the players should see the Pars safe. IMO Pars need to adopt a gung ho attitude and take risks to win games. Leaving risk taking to the last couple of games is way too risky...

We`d be home second leg in both fixtures dude. Unless they`ve changed the format?

I’ve believed since July and the league cup performances that we would get relegated this season. Seen nothing of substance to change that opinion unfortunately, never in all my life have I seen us win a play offs either so don’t expect much from them. Only slight hope is new management team come in and get to sign 3 /4 better players and keep us up. The current squad alone wont save us from relegation.

The optimist in me says we get a couple of new players in January, and become a better organised and focussed team, which gives us enough to battle to a very close 7th/8th by the end of the season. Strap yourselves in and hang on for the ride!

I think we can save ourselves but agree with Craigy that it was obvious in July we were going to struggle. McPake should have been gone in the summer IMO.

McPake has left us in a right mess, unfit, ill prepared and with a dire squad, I find it easy to believe the rumour he expected to be sacked a few games in and his heart wasn`t in this season.
I kind of hope Tidser does come in and maybe unearth a few gems from the lower leagues, like we used to do more often, instead of has beens and mate signings.

I don`t wanna go down like disco.

As noted by lochgelly above tidser may well use his contacts to have loans recalled and then they come to us. He’s said to have good links with Celtic but again so had mcpake and we now have another shakey keeper.

The players are not good enough and they are not fit enough and none of them have been in any form in the last 4 months, it’s going to take a few weeks to see any real improvement.
