 Rangers protest
Topic Originator: buffy
Date:   Sun 12 Jan 16:16

In their current game v St Johnstone swathes of “Union Bears” have walked out - boos from those against it - in protest at the club not getting rid of their current manager. They’re now protesting outside Ibrox.

How can they be skint playing in that league? They`re pretty much guaranteed two cup finals and European football every season.

Horrible club. I was reading there is a website where a season ticket holder can sell his ticket if unable to attend a game. Today, almost all of the seats were up for sale.

They must be skint if they aren’t get rid of him - he’s woeful. Their fans were loving life when Rogers came back and he’s made them look like idiots - again. Nothing new with the walkout though, they all leave Ibrox on 85 mins most weeks anyway!

Today showed how social media gave the impression that all the support were behind today`s action, when it was acted upon 90% Booed those leaving, the power of forums and other social media sites was way over estimated in this case .

Yip. A group of silly wee laddies wearing balaclavas walked out on 55 minutes. The majority of the crowd remained to support the team.

"Heard they are absolutely rookit again and selling more shares to generate cash. They owe 1 investor 10 million"

not sure what you mean "again" as they have never been anything but rookit.

Year on Year losses-
2012-13 - £14m
2013-14 - £8.1m
2014-15 - £7.5m
2015-16 - £3.3m
2016-17 - £6.7m
2017-18 - £14.3m
2018-19 - £11.3m
2019-20 - £15.9m
2020-21 - £23.5m
2021-22 - £0.9m
2022-23 - £4.14m
2023-24 - £17.17m

the saving grace for them is its individuals owed the money so its in their interests to keep club going, hopefully sell players or hope that other investment buys them out to get money back. In Administration or another liquidation event does not get them their investments back. For Uefa FFP rules they need to continue to cut cloth accordingly. They bough Connor Barron in the summer for the amount they recieved in for Sam Lammers, Connor Goldson, Todd Cantwell, Scott Wright and Robby McCrorie combined. They have a £4mil obligation to buy Cortes in the summer having played 8 games in the last 12 months.

An absolute bin fire of an organisation.

Wow quite astonishing amount of losses. Even their keenest investors clearly cannot keep that level of financing going. That is a truly staggering amount of money.

That is a run of 12 years without profit and under HMRC rules no shareholder can take a dividend if losses are encountered. That is a long time for no return on investment.

Perhaps someone in the community will know but was there a FIFA rule commissioned to action against clubs whom trade outwith their means?

They`ve still got some way to go before they top their predecessors debt of £374m in 2012. They can always fold and have their debts wiped out but keep their name, the stadium and their history.... 🙄

Was that £374m including the tax liabilities that “might” have been enacted or just the debts accrued. I think the current board would be clever enough to avoid the same scenario and if that is the case for now…and the previous liabilities were without the big tax case, surely they must be getting close to that figure, again assuming the big tax case is removed from the original number. To be honest, it is mind blowing numbers.

That figure included the demands from HMRC, IIRC, Parsmad.

Heard this at the end of November, was definitely doing the rounds. I love it (because I despise them and what they stand for) but how the hell can a club that size, have such a poor turnover?

For reference, they made it to the SPL for the 2016-17 season, so it’s not like all (or most of) their losses were incurred while in lower leagues.
