How come he’s not been out on loan last season or even the first half of this? Would have thought they would have wanted him getting competitive 1st team games somewhere? Not sure the new owners will have much in the way analytics on him given he’s been in the b team?
What we have seen from our previous b team signings is that they look really good at league 1 level but struggle to make an impact in the championship.

Otoo might be our best player but he’s hardly had a good season and isn’t a stand out in games despite being surrounded by poor performers. KRH has improved recently but has shown precious little so far this season.
My point is that these are punts, they could be like Walcott and make an impact or they could be like Benjamin and be way off it.
What’s the chances of these guys being decent consistent championship level players? The type we’ll need to get out of this.

The January window is a tricky one, I share Berkeys caution. The most successful window for the Pars bought M Hardie + K Rutkiewicz to push for promotion, it worked big time.
I really hope MT has a plan & it’s not some last minute bargain bin rake to get bodies in.
Time will tell………..not something we have a lot off to get this right.

I`m not saying we shouldn`t be cautious. I`m asking him to come up with some suggestions as to who we can realistically go for. It`s a pretty simple request.

For the winger positions, I would consider Alan Forrest or Declan John. The January transfer market tends to be unremarkable for teams of our lesser stature. Realistically, the youth seems to be our only viable option.
I would prefer to secure just one signing in this window—an experienced central midfielder who embodies leadership. This way, we can establish a solid spine in the team comprised of Bene, a leader, and Kane.

The days of getting a player like Martin Hardie on loan at the pars is over.
That season we got him and I think it was Rusty… they started a great run.

I would say both Otoo and KRH were well off the pace when they first joined. If I remember right, McPake threw them both on against Montrose and we ended up loosing 2-1 🤔 only loss that season.
My point being, we were able to give them both a little time being in League 1. Otoo has went from strength to strength since

That`s how I assumed it would work, the AI would identify the talent, scout the opposition and formulate the tactics and he would just be head coach.
I have been told the names of two young centre backs from the premiership he is trying to tie up, if those names are anything to go by then they are his picks.

We’ve talked about this before da no 1.
I’m not a scout, I don’t have contacts and I don’t watch much football outside of the pars. I do however beleive a more experienced player who is not getting in the team in the premier league is a better more reliable shout to improve us than a youngster who hasn’t played a single match at this level. Common sense tells you that.
And yes Otoo and KRH were raw and way off it when they came in, same with Walcott too. We have 14 games left, we don’t really have the time for these guys to settle in the team.
Again I might be wrong and they are great but previous experience and the odds are against them making the difference.

You might be on to something there, Raymie. There were rumours circulating before Christmas that our new owners were going to appoint a Director of Football, who would be responsible for identifying and bringing in new players, allowing the manager to concentrate on coaching, as happens at many top European clubs. I even heard a name bandied about, but there`s been no official announcement by the club.
Still and all, I can`t see how Michael Tidser would have first-hand knowledge about some of the players that the media are suggesting the Pars are interested in bringing in.

Piece on COWS suggests MT is heavily involved in the recruitment process and is making phone calls himself. He says it`s important new recruits can play in a way that suits his preference but stresses the need for experience as well as youth. No specific clues but he`s hoping to have at least one signed today.

Da no 1 what a load of nonsense.
There’s plenty of players in the premier league who are out of favour but they have at least played some first team games at that level or even the level down.
There has got to be more reliable better equipped players out there to help us now than young guys who haven’t kicked a ball anywhere near this standard.

even if they are available, within budget and interested, the likelihood is other teams will be interested who possibly are better options for the player.....

How many times do people need to be told that it’s harder to loan experienced players from higher up these days due to the match day squad size and sub changes in the leagues? Clubs mow need bigger squads and would rather have the experience than bleed youngsters at a higher level. Thats why the loan market lower down now is mainly youngsters.

And from a piece on the rangers site:-

It’s been a miserable season which now has a hint of recovery. Getting to a final (even a tinpot one) would help to contribute more to a sense of wellbeing for both fans and players that would generate more positive momentum than any benefit from resting players would give.
