Currently on STV; Forest have just equalised to make it 1-1. I didn`t realise ex-Hibs, Celtic and Scotland defender Gary Caldwell was manager of Exeter and has been since 2022.

Penalty shoot-out. Exeter have been excellent even after going down to 10 men, especially considering their recent League form has been poor.

One of my pet hates when discussing football is when fans and commentators refer to penalties as a lottery…it’s genuinely nothing of the sorts.

There was no doubt in my mind that Forest would win on pens.

Fair play to Exeter to get that far against a team on form!

It`s a lottery in the sense that even the best players, some of the greatest ever players, have missed from twelve yards out in penalty shoot outs. Messi, Ronaldo, Baggio, many others, all missing in major finals. You`d have felt as confident as you did tonight that Forest would win that those three players would have converted from the spot when the pressure was on yet your confidence would have been misplaced.

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

I think the pundits were right in saying the Exeter goalie would not be intimidating enough being 5`10`` and slightly built compared with the Forest goalie who filled the goals.

How big was the Queens Park goalie? He looked equally as diminutive.

Fair point, Big T. Maybe it was just that he had to face up to five pens and the contrast with the Forest goalie was so apparent as they changed positions each time.
