Sure he`s a nice guy but always seemed a bit smarmy. Still find the sacking of Murray utterly astounding. Surely must have been something that happened behind the scenes.

A few of Raith`s long term, local directors, that have stuck by the club through feast and famine, were really disgusted in the way the whole situation with Murray went down. They`ve not been impressed with him.
Anyone else cacking it that he`s about to turn up here?

Absolutely brilliant.
Raith are falling apart and it’s beautiful to watch.
How far they have came from last seasons title challenge to what they are doing now…..incredible.
Once a wee team, always a wee team.

I wonder if the criticism from Sam Stanton (as he left for Arbroath) of the way `the club` had dealt with his own issues had anything to do with it too.

Think it`s a wee bit premature to say Raith are falling apart, although it`d be class if that were the case 😆😆

No sure someone who cheats their wife with another club employee then has to leave to save his marriage has any room to criticise anyone to be fair

I didn`t realise that was the inside story. If that`s true then no he`s not.
I just heard what he said publicly about a member of his family receiving abuse and him feeling that the club didn`t do enough about it.

I was in the main stand when Rovers beat us in the cup 3-0 a year or so back.
The Rovers board were jumping about throwing it in the face of Pars fans around them.
They started getting stick from some Pars fans around them for being over the top with their celebrations.
Barrowman then gets up telling Pars fans to calm down with a smug look on his face and looking very insincere whilst he was pretending to be the mediator. He came across as a A-hole.

Well, having met the man numerous times, I can`t say I agree with the majority on this thread.
Came across as a pretty decent, humble bloke any time I chatted with him, granted it was way before he got involved in the management side of the game.

During the Administration calamity at EEP did he not offer to play for nothing?
Don`t know the guy, is he not part of the Mckenzie business that runs Soccer Store on Primrose Avenue?

Amazing how many people proclaim to know AB so well. I`m sure he`s done things that are a bit annoying, but who hasn`t?

Personally I found all the Rovers media shenanigans very funny. Surely what the game and our rivalry is all about, some fairly light hearted banter, wouldn’t have it any other way.

Statement from Andy Barrowman
Following the club`s announcement of my departure from Raith Rovers I feel it is important to provide some clarity.
On Thursday February 13th, I was informed that my employment with the club had been terminated with immediate effect due to the role of Chief Executive being made redundant.
To say the news came as a surprise is an understatement. While I obviously don`t agree with the decision, I respect the club`s wishes and remain incredibly proud of the progress we made during my time at the club.
I also want to express my appreciation to everyone who has contacted me over the past few days: your support has been truly overwhelming and has helped me to process the unexpected announcement by the club.
It has been a privilege to work with the dedicated staff, players, volunteers and supporters who make Raith Rovers such a special club, and I wish them every success in the future.

I remember listening to the audio of his speech at the fan involvement night explaining why they sacked Murray.
He didn’t come out of it with any credit to him personally or the board.
Arrogance was the word in my mind and above his station.

There was that extremely glossy video interview as well after the sacking where he spoke at length. It was awful.

Imo there is a lot more to his sacking just like Ian Murray’s that no one will ever hear about.
But I think Raith have spent £££ on trying to gain promotion in the past 2 years and it’s starting to backfire now and we will see in the next few months.

Making someone redundant is always painful , but normally this is due to future monetary adjustment I.e. could be the loss of a potential sponsor in the future that necessitates this move. Normally prudent financial management.
If that is the case then there are likely to be other casualties unfortunately as one role doesn’t make a business.
Personally I didn’t care for the social media posts much but they were enjoying success so we had to suck it up. It would be nice for us to get out of this mess and then enjoy the status of a Championship with the Rovers and Falkirk in it again.
