It would seem talks are at an advanced stage for the investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers, to buy into Glasgow Rangers.
They already have a part investment in Leeds United, this could be interesting if they are buying a significant share what they will make of the party songs sung at ibrox .

Tom English and BBC Sport reporting that the proposed San Francisco 49ers investment in Rangers would be to take on more than 50% of the shares, while clearing the debt owed to those shareholders.
1⃣ This would be a fairly expensive purchase - at least £50m for the shares alone if only purchased at 0.20 per share (likely be higher)
2⃣ The SFA board would need to approve such a purchase if Paraag Marathe (the Leeds United Chairman) is going to be involved - due to Multi Club Ownership rules.
If the SFA approved, then the only stumbling block for the multi club model would be further down the line if both Leeds and Rangers qualified for Europe.
They`d need to be approved by UEFA to compete in the same competition, which would likely result in the owners needing to reduce holdings in one of the clubs.

Do you still go to Celtic games ?
Does reveling in the failure of one of Scotland`s biggest shames make you a Celtic supporter?

No, but they have said in the past that they have leanings towards Celtic.

Who are "they", DA-go? I think Aaron Labonte was asking PuP if he still goes to Celtic games.

Ah, thanks. I thought he was a he. Maybe he uses the plural pronoun like the Pope or Royalty? 😁

Last season, the SPFL distributed £37.9m. This includes prize money for: league position for all 42 clubs, League Cup, Challenge Cup, SWPL & parachute payments.
🍀 This season, Celtic have earned £38.21m from UEFA - more than the entire SPFL distribution pot last season. As league winners, Celtic received £4.5m of last season`s £38m prize fund

Not just leanings 🫢 quite ironic from him as well given the hard time he’s given me in the past for previously following one of the bigoted brothers (in early teens before my friends brought me to the light side 😂). Maybe its because it wasn’t the Eastern Side I preferred at the time!

Maybe as the chasm grows between Celtic and Rangers financially it might be a good time for a vote on things like a more equal split of prize money?
An 11-1 majority may be possible?

Cant be expecting Celtic to share their European prize money with clubs that haven’t made it to Europe 😂 imagine the shoe was on the other foot?
Pars gain £1.5m in prize money from Europa but are told they must distribute 25% to other clubs in Scotland including Raith and Falkirk - would you be happy with that?

Pretty sure it was talking about a more equitable distribution of the prize money for league placings, not European earnings.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

...and maybe TV money if that`s not already bundled into the same payment.
I think I looked at it a few years ago and I`m certain the share in the EPL was far more even across the league placings, while extremely top heavy here.

Great point earlier on , amazing how quick the Rangers co ownership deal was ratified by SFA , compared to our owners length of time taken .
