Millwalls keeper sent off after one of the worst "Challenges" I`ve ever seen. Michael Oliver not immediately showing the red card is just about as bad.

Yeah. The "genuine attempt to play the ball" comment got me. The millwall fans reaction to the injury was pretty sickening too.

Awful challenge. Could have done some really serious damage to the guy

I haven’t seen footage - however the referee’s immediate reaction may have focused on the serious nature of the injured player’s condition, rather than a rush to flash a card ?
Just an observation.

Oliver didn`t even stop the play immediately. Was about 5m behind the Palace striker. Absolutely no excuses, he`s a shocking referee

He’s certainly made plenty of mistakes this season. Comes across as arrogant.
It`s bloody tough being a legend

He is never far away from controversy especially in the last few weeks. Just goes to show that even the “top” officials are useless too.

Older fans will remember a similar assault by W. Germany goalkeeper, Harald Schumacher on France`s Patrick Battiston in the 1982 WC semi-final.
The ref awarded the Germans a goal kick.
Not your average Sunday League player.

And he saved the decisive penalty. Picture quality from that time isn`t great but the boy was knocked out and lost Teeth. I`d argue the one yesterday was even worse. Hear he has quite bad damage to his ear. Lucky he didn`t lose his head.
Palace chairman didn`t hold back when interviewed

Loosely related but saw there was a red card affer 13 seconds of the Peterborough game yesterday which equalled the record for fastest sending off in English senior football history.

If Barton tells you the sky is blue take that as a question to your entire life experience and check if a dozen times. Him being wrong should be an automatic assumption.
