What a great feeling (those last 5 minutes I must have sweated a gallon). I love them as much as I love the Pars so I feel great. I would celebrate but 1 I`m skint and 2 I don`t drink. I`ll just dance around the house instead.

It’s brilliant to see someone new win a trophy, it’s been long overdue for the toon.

Why are they blaring loud music over the tannoys when the players are lifting the trophy? That really is rancid. Does anyone think that’s a good idea? Let the fans have their moment. They don’t need to be drowned out by terrible music that has nothing to do with the club.

Delighted for you and all Toon fans, Kozma. Nothing against Liverpool, but winning the Carabao Cup is no big deal for them - they have won plenty of trophies down the years. Newcastle and their fans hadn`t won a domestic trophy for 70 years - even longer than the Pars.
Not your average Sunday League player.

Newcastle is our nearest English team is it not?
Makes sense to favour them. Don`t even have to change our scarfs.

Eddie Howe is the first Englishman to win a major domestic trophy in England since Harry Redknapp won the FA Cup with Portsmouth in 2008.

Newcastle beat the current top 4 on their way to winning that trophy. Forest, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Oh, and Wimbledon.

Glad for the Newcastle fans and all that but sadly it`s a victory for Sportswashing and for Crown Prince MBS of Saudi Arabia.

This. This win is no fairytale - it`s fuelled by the money of a murdering dictator to improve his reputation abroad.
The worst thing is - it`s working. And it`s working very well.

Is it working? They are 23 points behind Liverpool in the league and most likely will need to sell 2/3 big assets in the summer.
Theres a big difference to the rules behind spending now in comparison to City in 2008. And they cant inflate sponsorships like City did either as they will end up with 115 charges against them.
I do, however, agree that the Saudi PIF should never have been allowed to takeover the club due to human rights issues from their government. How they pass the “fit and proper” bracket is quite staggering.

Sportswashing is working very well. That`s what I was referring to.
Newcastle are but a pawn in this game.
