The front runners are:

Neil Lennon 2/1
Kettlewell 4/1
Davidson 5/1
Murray 8/1
Neilson 8/1
Thompson 9/1
Martindale 10/1
Steven Naismith 10/1

It`s hardly an inspiring list isn`t it.

Of that bunch I`d take Kettlewell for sure. Had Motherwell massively over performing.

Wouldn’t say we are a great catch. Bottom end of Chanpionship/top end of league 1 type team that have been going through the managers in recent years including one who just got 2 months.

I thought the majority of those at the top of the list had proven their worth at a higher level than we`ve operated at for some time, it doesn`t guarantee success but given our recent history and to coin a US sports phrase they couldn`t get away with another out of left-field.

I think that is quite an impressive list. Most of them have actually been successful in previous jobs. Of course James McPake`s promotion with Dundee to the Premiership was downplayed once he joined us. What exactly are folk expecting from a new manager if not evidence of past success?

Who is `Thompson` by the way? Is it Kevin Thomson? Although he had a brief career in management he did win League 2 with Kelty Hearts.

Seriously, I`m not having a go at your opinion, but what exactly are you hoping for at the erse of the Scottish Championship. Even at the top of it?

If the club were to appoint Lennon, then on the basis of his management record, it would be a huge coup for it, however the baggage that comes with him is highly off putting and makes him a divisive character for a lot of the supporters.

On a personal level, the appointment would make sense and it’s one that I would back, but I’m highly doubtful that he is a realistic target for us but I suppose time will tell.

Us appointing Lennon as manager would be a coup, no doubt about it! He has a great record and has been round the block. Has contacts in the game and I am sure this would really signal intent from the owners.

You are having a go, but that`s fine, it`s what forums are for.

I just don`t find the list inspiring, and I like to see a few `wildcards` on the list - names like Stephen Constantine - a name that was floating around when we were looking to replace Jimmy C.

Michael Tidser would probably have been a `wild card` on the last list we had.

No one can deny that Lennon comes with baggage, but we`re not Rangers, so our fans will accept him if he turns our fortunes around. By that I mean keeping us in the Championship and turning us into genuine promotion challengers next season.

That`s two negative posts on different threads, Chris. Me thinks you`re trolling, but on the off chance you`re not, why on Earth could not accept him or renew your ST?

Even if he keeps us up and promoted to the Premiership next season? Are you really Kris (Boyd) ? 🤔

Parrot definitely jumped in with both feet there, but Chris left himself open by submitting two posts, which many of us disagree with, and then refusing to explain his reasons when asked.

Chris makes a statement some posters find difficult to comprehend and ask him to explain the logic underlying his conclusion. Chris refuses and Parrot jumps to a conclusion which Chris doesn`t like but still refuses to explain the reasoning behind his post. I have to wonder why if it`s nothing to be ashamed of.

Posters quite rightly call out anyone who posts anything which is unacceptable on this forum. If you`re given a chance to explain your comment, it`s best to do so. If you don`t, folk will speculate and you`re unlikely to come out of it well.

People often construe a winners mentality for being arrogant and unlikeable. Theres a reason these guys win lots of trophies in their careers. Lets hope he instills that within our squad.
