It`s been a long, long time since so many Pars fans were so excited about what`s been happening at our club recently. Bringing in a proven manager is a real statement of intent, and to follow that up by signing a player of real quality in Victor Wanyama is quite surreal for a relatively small club with limited financial resources.
Following the Pars has always involved highs and lows. The highs are mostly from the 60s; two Scottish Cup wins and the 64/65 season where we came agonisingly close to a League and Cup double, but ultimately won neither. In recent years, the lows have undoubtedly outweighed the highs, with 2013 seeing our nadir as the club entered Administration and was only saved from liquidation by the generosity of its creditors.
While we are very grateful to you and your associates for taking ownership of DAFC and making funds available to improve our chances of retaining our Championship status, some of us still have concerns that the history of when we were last owned by an individual could repeat itself.
Perhaps you could allay those fears by explaining whether the money currently being spent will be absorbed by your company or whether it`s a loan? Also, if/when you decide to end your association with the club, can you reassure its fans that it will not be left with unserviceable debts?
I understand that there is no obligation on you to respond either publicly or privately, but it would be good for the fanbase to be reassured that the club is in good, safe hands and has a sustainable future,

Desperate to feel excited about what is happening at our great club but still a bit afraid to get carried away just in case. Once bitten.......

Aye me too. This is getting a bit too good to be true. Giving me early 2000s Dundee vibes. I can’t help but feel this is going to blow up in our face down the line. This is Dunfermline we’re talking about.

A fair guess would be that Gamdom are footing the bill for this short term, and that come the end of the season there will be an overhaul of the squad. At this point, you`d think the data analytics as promised will come into play and shape the summer transfer window. I think everyone knows that this type of spending long term will 100% end in tears.

Maybe just see what happens over the next few weeks? At the moment, Lennon and Wanyama are only short-term signings, so if we go down, we won`t necessarily be stuck with long-term financial commitments.

I have to admit I have a slight feeling of trepidation mixed with the positivity.
Back in the Calderwood era it felt normal to be outbidding the likes of Aberdeen and Hibs for players but it eventually proved to be unsustainable and we’ve struggled ever since (barring 3 or 4 seasons). The Dundee example too as made above, almost ended in tears.
I’m all for this adventure, as long as it’s not sending the club into debt we may not be able to repay.
Still, it’s pretty exciting at the moment!

Haven`t been this excited about football / the Pars for a while now.
Still a bit nervous about it all as well tho as we don`t really know too much about the owners & their intentions - nothing against them but once bitten & all that.
Yesterday WAS stonking tho - this week has been a bit surreal, so I guess just jump on board & hope for the best!

I`ve a feeling we`ll stay up and Lennon and Wanyama will be away regardless. I hope I`m wrong. If he`s still here next season then Id seriously consider getting my 1st ever season ticket at 42 years of age.

If we stay up Lennon will 100 percent be here next season. It’s all agreed.

The impression I’m getting is if we stay up Lennon will be staying. Agree about Wanyama, as amazing as it is, with him not having played for 6 months he will be using this is the start of pre season to get his name out there for the start of next season…..imo

Agree on Wanyama.
Every agent in Europe now knows that he`s available to play. He`s getting a pre-pre season under his belt.
Hopefully he scores a couple of screamers to go onto his showreel between now and the end of the season.

I heard big vic contacted Lennon, asking if he needs a new midfielder, if we stay up, we will have a new player/coach in our midst

The euphoria is becoming infectious - however like some others I`m a bit wary of getting carried away.........just yet.
If we stay up, NL will certainly be here in the long term - he`s had an offer he couldn`t refuse.

Is this akin to writing a letter to Santa, GG?
If so, I’d love a shiny new netbook, a pink🐭, and one o they fancy comfy seats 💺 like in the dug outs.
Ohhh and a personalised double biscuit !

Still can`t quite believe what`s happened/happening. Celtic guys, that I play football with, were saying last night that he is an absolute beast of a player and should stroll it in The Championship, even if he is half fit. Can`t wait till Saturday.

I share your optimism but it`s 12 years since he played for Celtic. Has anyone seen him play recently?

Yes and no, Buffy. As we all know, the real Santa dishes out lots of wonderful presents to all good girls and boys every Christmas. He does this out of the goodness of his heart and asks for nothing in return. Imagine if he wasn`t the real deal, and after giving out the said presents, the children were hit with demands for payments they could never afford.
So I suppose I`m asking Mr Bord if he is the real Santa or just some guy with a fake white beard and a red suit. 🤔

Bord is in a difficult position. This squad were sleepwalking into relegation and we know the financial implications that league 1 brings. If we can get an experienced manager in and a few seasoned pros who can keep us up it might have been cheaper than life in league 1.
c'mon the pars

Wanyama will be away no matter what division we end up in,he`s just a short term solution that will give the squad a lift playing alongside someone of his calibre.
Lennon will be here if we stay up,its etched on stone. If we go down, he`ll be zooming away in his expensive car with a large chunk of change.

Reading all of the above, and agreeing with the majority of comments.
I can say I loved the excitement of the “Jimmy” years . Yes it all went pear shaped in a very scary way.
If I remember rightly the club was depending on filling the stadium every week and Sponsorship to balance the books. Didn’t happen!
I don’t think the new owners are daft enough to think this way again .
My thoughts are we are going to be a selling club. Can’t see any other way we can balance the books and pay the owners.
So can we attract the players in sufficient numbers to sell on ?
How long will it take before they get a return on their investment?
(This not meant to be a negative, but as a former Third Lanark fan btw that still rankles !!! )
However after the **** show of the past few years I’m excited at the prospect of a resurgent pars team. Onwards and upwards !

Dear Mr Bord,
Please, please, please don`t shaft us or leave us in the poop. We don`t need millions spent on players, just a decent squad capable of getting back into the top tier of Scottish football.
You`ve certainly got myself and 99.8% of fans excited by your actions thus far (you can`t please everybody). Thanks for taking a chance on us, we are a reasonably big team in Scottish terms with a crowd that is better than many teams already in the SPL.
As for Wanyama, WOW! It might just be a short-term deal but it`s a massive coup for the club, Lennon was enough to motivate our current crop of players but a player of Wanyamas stature will get the players extremely excited and I firmly believe he`ll make the players play to the best of their abilities to try to impress him.
I feel more optimistic about avoiding relegation than I have at any point from the start of the season.
Warm regards
