I feel a hypocrite
Chelsea`s money back in the day - pi$$ed me off - "they have bought the titles"
I said.
Celtic - Rangers - TV money "no feckin wonder they are the top two" I said
Here i am getting absolutely pumped we have an owner and a sponsor to buy us glory - and I like it.

Don`t want to be `that guy` but we still have to score the goals that keep us in the championship. Easier said than done.

This. It’s football. But Saturday will be fascinating.

Think we need to go in realistic about Saturday, it would be some turnaround if we were able to magically play better off the bat with a new manager and one new signing he’s brought with him who’s a defensive midfielder (an awesome one at that).
Think it’ll be a draw personally.

We could also do with Raith beating Hamilton on Saturday.

I`m clinging to the view that Ayr are far from unbeatable. They only scraped a draw in added time at home to Hamilton, as did Falkirk. Come to think of it, there`s no outstanding team in this league.
We should have been battling it out at the top, not the bottom. 😒
Not your average Sunday League player.

Staying up is the absolute priority right now to focus on 100% - next season is another story.

It is the sad part GG, Falkirk have had a terrific season but it`s not like they`ve changed a huge amount of their team from League 1. They`ve capitalised on the momentum they had which is something our old owners and McPake couldn`t do.
It`s massively frustrating given the league will be more difficult next season regardless of who comes down from the Premiership (should we even stay up of course...)

Why will it be more difficult?
Livingston won`t have the full parachute payment and the UEFA solidarity payment, there are question marks over Partick in terms of finance and they don`t have a full time manager yet, Airdrie could be getting replaced by Arbroath, Queens Park are a bit all over the place, who knows what`s happening at the Rovers... think it`ll be similar to this season tbh

St Johnstone are well run but not notoriously big spenders are they?
Assuming we stay up, Lennon is still in charge and the same ambition is shown I can see us being there or there abouts.
I don`t wanna go down like disco.

Next season I believe we are going to be the closest we have been in a long time to getting promoted back to the top tier.

This season was the weakest the Championship has been for years and when you contrast the lack of ambition of the previous owners at the start of the season in comparison to the new owners, it is pretty frustrating.
McPake was showing that frustration in his interviews at the time.
St Johnstone (and possibly Dundee) will be stronger than Livi were.
If we stay up then the noises are that Lennon stays on and will be backed, so if we get recruitment right then we’ll definitely be up there.

Did St Johnstone not get new American ownership as well? I`m not sure if they`ll match the sort of spending we have lined up in the summer but still think it`ll be more than anyone we`ve faced this season.
You`re probably right that overall the championship will be similar next season, I think it`s just frustrating seeing a missed opportunity this year when it didn`t look like we needed to make a massive leap to at least challenge in the top 4. It`s been a very poor division this season

This season was a chance wasted, starting the season with so few first team players and 1 keeper set the tone.
St Johnstone I think will be relegated but I can’t see Dundee losing a play off to either of the teams in the playoff spots so I think will be same as.
Falkirk up, St Johnstone down
Airdrie down, Arbroath up.
We will no doubt be challenging top of table next year, if recruitment is right which I feel it will be with a manger at the helm making final decisions.

Absolutely this. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Loving all the positivity though. Potentially fun times ahead

If we stay up and I’m 100% we will then more or less a new squad has to be assembled.

Going by some mindsets hereabouts the SPFL can award us the 2025/26 Championship title now and the top tier can prepare to visit EEP the season following.
Is it something in the public water supply in South West Fife 😂

To be fair, he didn’t say which title we would buy.
We’re more than capable of buying the league 1 title.
