 Reasons to be cheerful

1. Cooper and Raymond both played well when they came on. IMO both should start going forward.

2. NFL has now had a chance to see his team in a competitive match. There will definitely be changes.

3. Hamilton got gubbed 3-0 at home off a very poor rovers side. They are still murder and we can beat them at EEP.

4. Beating Hamilton, Airdrie and Queen’s Park should be enough to keep us up. 3 wins against 3 poor sides.

5. Most of these deadbeats will be gone in 2 months, never to trouble a DAFC team sheet again.

6. Lennon is a winner, winners find a way.

That’s all I’ve got. I’m really trying to find the positives among the mountains of negatives.

Hamilton outplayed Ayr last week and were unlucky not to win.

Beating Hamilton, Airdrie and QP. You call them poor teams but so are we.At least they create chances and score goals and that’s the worry.

If they take the lead against us, we will crumble and they could pounce in us.

The deadbeats will be gone your correct bit it’s them that we need to dig us out a hole and they aren’t bothered.

I do hope I’m wrong however but only time will tell.

When push comes to shove and teams are scrapping for their lives I think we will wilt, you can tell it means nothing to the players who have already checked out. Just have to hope the other teams do to.

The Hamilton game is huge, win that and not only are we above Hamilton, it means it’s likely airdrie already down by the time we play them so hopefully they don’t put up much of a fight.

Hopefully young is not out for the remainder of the season, we can’t put guys like yeboah on the pitch and expect to get anything from games.

We must beat Hamilton and Airdrie at home.

QP away will be huge if we beat Hamilton, we could go there and beat them. They are possibly worse than us if that’s possible. If they had crumbled a few weeks earlier they’d be in serious trouble.

I don`t think you are wrong. The fans on here have told them they are useless and not wanted for most of the season.
Confidence and giving a toss are a burst flush.

Someone is going to come on soon and ask me when I`m going to stop repeating the same point. To which I will have to respond, "When you stop shooting yourself in the foot."

Ignore the point if you want to guarantee 3rd tier football and no Lennon next season.

Just watched the Hamilton Raith highlights and some of the Hamilton defenders looked slow and were giving the ball away. Goals were poor ones to concede - So some positives for us.

Let`s take a mulligan on Saturday`s performance, in truth Ayr away was too big a hill to climb for the first attempt.

I`m dragging the whole tribe along on Saturday, the Hamilton game is a much more realistic jumping off point.

For all the signs that Airdrie are playing far better than us, they`ve only picked up 4 points to our 3 in the last five games, QP 3, Accies 2.

And I don`t think performances are always an indication of who`s gonna stay up. Fitba` works in mysterious ways, does it not? We`ve had a few great results at EEP this season.

Still in the hunt for 8th.

It beats reasons to be fearful and tearful. And however it goes, there`s always a reason to be beerful!

I expected Ayr to win 2-0, so wasn`t too upset by a 3-0 scoreline. The lack of any goal threat and the physical condition of Wanyama were much more disappointing.

On the bright side though, I expected Hamilton to take at least a point from their home game against Raith, so their losing 3-0 was definitely a bonus.

Will be some surprising twists and turns to come as once falkirk wrap it up the other in the playoffs will start resting players and teams like Morton and raith’s intensity will drop knowing they have nothing to play for.

Hopefully that will benefit us too?

Although I`d be surprised if teams in the play offs rest players knowing finishing a place higher gives them one less tie and a lot more prize money.

Honestly Berkey there`s so many different permutations and variables at individual player level that you`ll drive yourself nuts trying to retrofit simple reasoning into a complicated situation.

Maybe some players will be fighting for contracts? Maybe some teams will play even better without pressure? Maybe some will push harder for additional prize money.

The only thing to focus on is our own matches, specifically beating Hamilton and Airdrie at home, which should at the very least secure 9th.

Beating, Hamilton, Queens Park and Airdrie.
How can we beat them, when we can`t
score any goals. Best we can do is five
no scoring games. 5pts maximum.

I`d start Stevens and Cooper, both offer some creativity and Cooper is more of a goal threat. Not sure how long KRH or O`Halloran are out for?

This is true. However our last games have been away to Falkirk, Raith and Ayr. Now we have Livi at home then our last few games are against teams that are also struggling.

I`m looking for positives but our home record is OK and we`re going to be up against teams who are at the wrong end of the table for a reason.

Forget about March it was always going to be tough.

As bad as we`ve been there`s somehow a team who have managed to accrue 6 points less and concede 18 more goals. In saying that to win games you need to score and we look so devoid of creativity at the moment.
The £5 ticket incentive is pitched at the correct game, I only hope we start on the front foot and get the decent support behind us on Saturday.

Never10yairds, excellent post full of positivity, I like it.

The reason that football is arguably the best sport in the world is because it`s so unpredictable at times. There are no amazing teams in our league, it`s just consistency that determines where we end up. We`ve been honking all season but I firmly believe that Neil Lennon is a born winner and he WILL find a way to get us out of this ugly predicament.

Our recent record of scoring goals is horrific so I believe we`re due a change in fortunes. A few ugly one nil wins will see us fine and dandy, avoiding a playoff by the skin of our teeth. A penalty, an own goal and a scuffed Yeboah effort.

Lennon (or another coach) will be working hard with the strikers and trying out every forward thinking player to work on their crosses.

I have faith, I urge you all to change your minds and have some faith. Or feel free to shower me with abuse and chagrin, I don`t mind.

I think that it`s fair to say that it`s been a roller coaster season. No doubt the players have been unsettled by the changes in managers and change of ownership. Bringing loan players in half way through the season is not good for them or the team. You really need to be planning ahead and bringing in players at the start of tge season to develop a settled squad. It`s just as important to have players who can work in a team as well as individual skill. We have firefighted this season for sure and it`s about 1 game at a time till the end of the season. We clearly need to avoid the bottom spot. Hopefully we can do that and worse case go into tge playoffs with more confidence and more organisation than we have at the moment. Defensively I think we have been good this season but we have been completely devoid of ideas upfront. That puts us on the back foot from the very start.

Personally I think NL will be a good fit fir the Pars and I hope for him. Wanyama - not a great start and clearly lacks fitness. He can develop tgat but mire than anything else he can bring experience to the team even just on the training ground. That experience you can`t buy.

I am sure that players will be away at the end of the season, and some may have their eye on their next move and try and stay injury free. You would hope they will maintain a level of professionalism to tge last kick of the ball.

I tend to agree with NL on the hamstring issues and conditioning. Its was a problem last season and to a lesser extent this season..

There is no magic wand with our current performances so NL and his team will need time. I see the recent events as a big step forward for the club. Once tge dust has settled hopefully we will be on the up.

Came here to see if the thread was about the late great Ian Dury but then remembered he was a spurs fan if I recall correctly.
Anyway .... Carry on.
I`ll go back to my cup of Da Hong Pao tea and bid you all a pleasant night.
