Seriously what was the point in signing him?
He’s been sent off, never played against Livi (suspended) and out for one warm up today.
I don’t see him playing at all as he’s so far off the pace even pre match he looked so immobile.
I’d rather have someone like Ewan McLeod recalled and on the bench, someone who’s raring to go.
Wanyama = waste of money and he’ll contribute nothing to this team for the remainder of the season.

Feels like a publicity stunt or perhaps in the hope he’s fit if we make the playoffs?
Between this and the players we brought in, in January, the new owners are being taken for a ride as they have more money than sense.

If Neil Lennon thought he would help, then I trust him. The manager is no fool and he will get a performance out of VW. I say throw him in at QP next week, then judge.

Nightboat what do we need to judge?
He can’t run and is the most unfit player I’ve seen since John Clark. I would have though the very least we would require from our midfield players is to able to run.

He won’t manage against QP next week. He genuinely seems to struggle to run even in pre match.
I’d be shocked if he played next week.
Publicity stunt to try and generate some confidence in the team is exactly what it was and had been a disaster.

Do you really think we can afford publicity stunts?!
So what’s the answer? We have few weeks to make something work. The current forward line, as was seen today, isn’t up to it, so how do we change?

A couple more weeks to go him fit then he could be instrumental in the last 2-3 games. He`s a class act that`s out of shape but Lennon will have him training like an Olympican.

Lennon said in his post-match interview that Wanyama`s getting to a fitness level where he`s in his selection thoughts.
He didn`t look very fit in the warm-ups

Our owners knew the publicity that the signing would generate. Wanyama was a marketing ploy to promote Gamdom. Any sporting benefit is just a bonus. He’s miles off it and would need a full pre-season under his belt to get up to speed for Championship football.

Even with a full pre-season behind him I think he’d struggle in League One.

Went to America at 28 which tells its own story.
Some players make their money from the game and it’s takes the motivation out of them. He would have had a club in January if he wasn’t miles off it in fitness terms and that’s not changed. I’m guessing he wasn’t really expecting to be playing again.

His brother, who played in serie A, and retired in his early 30s had ambitions of running for parliament in Kenya. He wasn`t cleared to run in the elections after some doubts were raised about his real age. Apparently the father had admitted to somebody that he lied about the brothers ages when they were younger and they may be 5 years older than believed.

He didnt look overweight to me.
Certainly not 2 or 3 stone.
He did seem to have large thighs. He looked like a weightlifter walking.
I couldnt see excess belly fat.

Said the same on my first viewing of him yesterday, maybe not the weightlifter aspect but certainly didn’t look fat. Certainly looked musclier on his top quarter. Did the skin tight tops make him look in worse shape than is true? Didn’t pay much attention to his warm up pre match tbf, as was more interested in our powderpuff finishing with no defenders in the way……

Mo Hutton had given him the largest pair of shorts he could find. He seemed to be going through the motions but he maybe knew he wasn’t going to feature yesterday.

Maybe he isn.t overweight, but a footballer that can barely run is of no use to any team , as said before he would need a full preseason to get him to any kind of fitness. Publicity Stunt

He`s certainly well built, his upper body especially shoulders well developed, he has played for long enough so must know his fitness levels.
On a separate observation, how does Yeboah warm up with the crutch of his shorts down at his knees?
Was waiting on the rip happening!

It always amazes me just how many folk don’t get that we can’t recall our young guys who are out on loan then play them
I even had to explain why to someone last night who wants us to recall Keith bray just because he scored a hat trick yesterday

Genuine question but why can’t we recall them and play them? I noticed Andy Tod has been recalled from East Fife and been on the bench last few weeks.
Never mind, I didn’t realise he was recalled in January.

Players can only be recalled in the transfer windows. Andy had his loan cancelled due to his injury. Cause he’s played for us and east Fife this season he can’t play for another team so needs to stay in the squad.

Wanyama might still produce something before its all over for the season
I think he was brought in, not just for publicity but also a presence in the dressing room. I recon Lennon is trying things to lift spirits and boost confidence.
Having a winner around can be very effective.
It seems like we are a bit more on the front foot.
We just cant find the end product.
