 Should you post ?
Topic Originator: saltonsgonagetu

After being told by various positive posters on here that negative posts on .net were the cause of the teams poor performances, we come up with a win v Livi on Wednesday, 3 days of positive posts produce today`s incipient performance , so should you post how you feel tonight ?

Yeah, these players are clearly good enough….wrong manager, no backing from fans, played out of position….how many excuses have we heard.

We could have had 20,000 pars fans there today and it wouldn’t have made any of those players any better.

Same old story Saltonsgonagetu , Doesn`t matter what you post there is always someone will turn it round to suit their narrative !
The best thing is tell it as it is because you will probably find there are many others that actually feel the same way ,
Today was one of those games , Just come off the back of a very good win against Livi everyone is full of positivity a bumper crowd and the usual end result dunfermline Nil ! you cannot argue or put a spin on anything , to win a game you need to have belief and score a goal more than the opposition !! it`s not rocket science

I think we all know the players are to blame for the mess we’re in. Managers can only do so much and now we have arguably one of the best in Scotland and the players are still hopeless.

The players are the problem, I really wouldn’t care if they all left and we start again, that’s basically what’s gonna happen anyway.

The majority will be away to League 2 or 1 at a push.

You seem to be at your happiest saltansgonagetu, when we lose. Bit of an inverted supporter, it seems. Makes you kind of spring into life, as if you were secretly willing a defeat. Strange position for a supposed supporter. Quite a lot of self righteous vitriol coming from your quarter, as if you are the self proclaimed champion of football wisdom. "Oh, look at me, I was right all the time" seems a kind of childish response. At least some try to see some positivity in what has become a pretty dire situation. I suppose the courageous thing is to take it on the chin and get ready for the next game. Throwing in the towel, like you seem to be doing is the wrong option. The players need to grow in adversity and so, it seems do some of the fans.

He`s not the only one, these guys look forward to bringing it back to how right they are when they slag off players, managers or the team.
Silence from them when we`re playing well.

We`re all feeling pretty down tonight, some more than others. Maybe have a wee think before targeting some of your fellow supporters on just about every thread. You know nothing about the people you`re picking on.

Having a positive outlook is not a bad thing and I`ll not be changing to suit some of the folk who post on here.

On a positive note it's good to see Berkey has finally found his phone. Think he'd lost it around 9.30 on Wednesday night. Every cloud.....

Remember the same thing when you and your cohorts come on when slagging of those who dare to question the ability of our players and previous managers, I am desperate for our team to stay up, but defending most of these players, when we want to be at the top of the league is just strange .

I know that if I was a professional footballer and fans were on my back,I`d sink into an insane depression and my confidence would hit rock bottom. If the fans stood by me, I`d be in a better mood and more likely to train and try harder as my spirits would be lifted.

Maybe worth thinking about the mental health of players before pouncing on them.

If you are going to let negative comments from randoms on the internet put you into a depression you probably aren’t cut out for professional football, or achieving anything of any great significance in life in the first place.

If I was in that position I’d be desperate to prove the nay sayers wrong and prove my worth to the punters who ultimately pay my wages.

Two types of people I guess.

Tbf you don’t even need belief you literally just have to score 1 more than them 🤷🏻‍♂️

But aye you’re correct about the posts. To many want to try spin their own narrative rather than even making a counter point. Reason I read is to see what others opinions are, sometimes it helps me form my own opinion

And btw all the nonsense about “players mental health”

Give it a rest like.

We’re using a fans forum to post opinions about a football team. Anyone has the right to say anything about a professional footballers performance.

If I think player X is P15H then I’m going to use the platform to say I think he’s P15H.

Da no 1 the word ‘recently’ doing some heavy lifting there.

We spent the first 3/4 of the season arguing about whether the players were good enough, I said they were not and you had a list of excuses as to why they were underperforming and would come good.

Slowly those excuses have been eroded by events on and off the park and now you’ve realised it is the players and you’re making a point that you haven’t defended them for a month!

I’m glad the penny has dropped but now making a point that you haven’t defended them for a month feels a bit much.

Im going to guess you have never been in that position, so you are assuming what you would do, based on your current state of mind and perspective.
Circumstances can change perspectives, and the resolve can quickly deteriorate. When you are in a position where you cant fight your way out, as you suggest, because other folk are in control, and the people that matter are unforgiving and constantly critical......
Well lets hope you never have to deal with that feeling.

I can`t make up my mind, tbh. The players have shown, in just a few games this season, that they are good enough, but have performed poorly in far too many others. So what`s the answer?

Well, as a squad, their confidence is extremely brittle. When we concede the first goal, it`s invariably been game over. Not good enough, therefore. I`d hesitate to say that all the players are not good enough. Unfortunately, those that are good enough are too few to carry those that aren`t. I`d also argue that in many games they have not been set up in a way that made the most of their abilities. Some players haven`t always been played in their best positions and they`ve been asked to play out from the back a la Man City or Barcelona under Guardiola which clearly exposed them.

In conclusion, it`s not just the players fault we`re in the current predicament.

Berkey everything you post (on every thread every day except when we win) feels a bit much.

The players have proved they can compete with teams at the top of this league and win on the odd occasion, therefore they can be good enough on any given day. Obviously they're not consistent enough.

I think some are decent championship level players however they're being dragged down by the absolute dross we bring in every window.

If they don’t have consistency, they aren’t good enough. Top players aren’t good because they perform once every 5/6 games, they do it on a consistent basis - which our lot don’t.

Not sure if I follow your logic, Dave. While I`m leaving myself open to nit picking, players who show they are good enough every now and then ARE good enough. They`re just inconsistent. Two different things in my book.
