I`m back to the `what ifs and buts`. They are only 2 points ahead of them wee team and the wee team play F*lkirk on Friday. If Raith can steal a win then Partick swap places in the playoff race. Even a point or no points and they`ll still be nervous.
This could work for or against us. They could come out all guns blazing against us on Saturday or they could be a nervy stuttering mess as they know their next game is against F*lkirk. Either way they play though,we need to keep our focus, defend as a team, not just the defenders and get some crosses into Kane and Lewis, as well as having a shoot on sight policy.
This isn`t football anymore, it`s war!
Not much point to this thread,I`m just waiting on the plumber.

I posted this after the game on Saturday.
At the other end of the table, Livi beating Morton could be a good result for us. Livi play again on Friday before Falkirk next do. That means by next Saturday Falkirk could kick off their game against Raith with Livi only three points behind them. Raith need points to get into the *playoffs too.
It would be great for us to be safe before the final game, but if that doesn`t happen, then some combination of results that sees most teams having something to play for in the final match would be good for us.
Given the potential points deduction you could see Falkirk vs Hamilton deciding promotion and relegation.

With the caveat that it is only Tuesday, tickets don’t appear to be selling in as big numbers as I had expected.

Perhaps people are awaiting payday before buying?
It’s too early to gauge anyway.

A Livi draw on Fri night and a Falkirk win on Sat will effectively decide the top 3 places in the league.
A Hamilton points deduction only makes it harder for them to finish 7th. I might actually pity QP in their current form having to play at Hamilton on Sat if a points deduction is awarded.
Partick game is massive since a loss and an Airdrie win would put them only 2 pts behind for the penultimate weekend showdown at EEP. Partick are there for the taking, though. COYP

Got a feeling we’ll struggle a bit on Saturday and at this point I would take a point. We struggle to string performances and more importantly wins together.
A win would be fantastic but thistle are a decent team so wouldn’t expect them to lose to both us and Hamilton in consecutive games, espech when fighting get 4th place.

Lost to Airdrie before Hamilton. Not impossible

Nobody probably expected them to lose consecutive games to Airdrie and Hamilton - but they did - and they were fighting for 4th place in those games too!

It`s weird how some fans think other teams will be more motivated than us - when we`re trying to avoid relegation!

We need to focus on ourselves. Without back to back wins it would be a brilliant time to change that and not leave the Airdrie game any bigger than it already is.

This lack of back to back wins and bigging up the effort levels of other teams is infuriating and defeatest. Are we saying we`ll never win back to back games ever again because that`s the pattern we`re on? I`m sure Lennon will have them in a more positive frame of mind than that.

Partick still above us in the form table for the last 5 games (or are we not using that now?)
Rusty we’re not good enough as a team to string many results together. Hamilton showed that, the players just couldn’t produce it twice in a row. Lennon might help improve this to an extent but as we know better players will make the real difference. Same with motivation, it only gets you so far, you need the quality to back it up.
Bookies have this as a very tight game, feels about right. We can quite easily lose this but with Kane we could win it too. It will be much harder than last week given queens have collapsed.

Looks like Partick Thistle have collapsed a bit too, going by their pathetic performance against Hamilton. They are probably about level with us going by recent performances, but we have home advantage. However, any time we think we are favourites, guess what happens?

Every time we get a win we can`t seem to back it up ? It usually is followed by a poor performance as well just look at the Hamilton game recently. The inconsistency is exactly why we find ourselves in this league position as we simply haven`t been able to put a run together to ensure our safety.

I think I am right in saying that after all our “ Big Wins “ Rovers twice, Livi twice and Partick away we have lost the next game. QP was also a big win regardless of their form because of the situation we are in. So previous results would suggest we are going to flop again on Saturday. We can’t afford to. We simply must get a least a point, therefore regardless of what Airdrie do it will mean that we go into the last game ninth at worst.
I really don’t want to be going to Morton on the last day needing a win or a draw to avoid automatic relegation or even finishing ninth but have a feeling that will be the case hopefully just regarding the latter.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Game should be more open than against Hamilton, who came and sat in and hit us on the break.
As always, feel like our chances of winning will depend on Kanes availability. Also to a lesser extent McCann, who seems more suited to playing wide and gives an option for the long ball against the full back.
Partick have lost their last two v Hamilton and Airdrie, so no reason why we can’t beat them as well.
Saying that, I’d take a draw.

I feel Queens Park will not win another game this season and will be in the bottom two so to me it’s a straight fight out between us, Airdrie and Hamilton for the other spot.
A win this week will almost guarantee no more than 9th place.
