On the commentary today the match attendance was announced, and it was remaked that 100,000+ had attended this season.
This was the first time since?
Didn`t pick up on dates quoted 🤔

According to the match report on COWS -
`Dunfermline’s home season concluded with their attendances at league games surpassing 100,000 for the first time in 18 seasons`.
Remarkable really considering the season we`ve had but four derbies against Falkirk and Raith obviously helped as did the initiative to reduce prices for the recent Hamilton game.
ETA - We were relegated from the Premier League in 2006/07 so would have the benefit of bigger away supports that season.

Just imagine what gates will be like if we put together a team that can challenge next season. Season ticket sales could be very decent next season.

I’ll be buying my first one ever for next season. I feel there is now something worth spending my time and money on at EEP. It’s meant to be entertainment after all.

As has been said, it’s pretty remarkable when you consider the season and how poor we have been. I doubt many other teams, in the league, could say this after having similar seasons.

Absolutely. I’ve said it before, but if we can get the team on the park and market it correctly, we can build a bigger support than we currently have. 100%. Everyone needs to play their part though

It`s absolutely fantastic how our crowds have been so high, the last time we were in the Prem pretty sure we averaged just under 5k (minus Sevco if I remember) to get just under 6k a game at this level is astonishing.
I always assumed we had a cap, 6k max if we are doing well, more or less the same as Motherwell, St Mirren etc.
Makes me wonder now how far we can go.

This isn`t the crowd though, it`s the declared attendance so can`t really compare with more than a few seasons ago. When we were last in the premier we weren`t counting people who weren`t there.

We were never in the top flight when Rangers were on "the journey". We finished bottom the year they went bust and probably should have had a reprieve but instead they let Dundee come up as they`d finished 2nd in the First Division as the Championship was known at the time.

This is the time to entice new fans and fans that stopped going because they were tired of watching rubbish football or other reasons.
Make us the cheapest team to watch by knocking a few quid off. Offer mini season tickets where you pay for 5 games and get 1 free. Have more competitions other than the 50/50. I`m assuming all walk up tickets have a number on them so how about a lottery. 10 random ticket numbers, season and walk up get a free ticket to the next home game.
Let`s make East End Park a fortress again.

No real value in a season ticket these days you only save a handful of games and most will miss that due to other commitments so can see why people decide against it. The problem with that for the club is games on a bitterly cold January or end of the season games with nothing to play for will keep them away. I know 2 guys who haven`t bought a season ticket due to work and stopped going in the mcpake days as the standard of football was rotten.

I`ll get one again but when you factor-in home tv games and the odd holiday and £5 entry to bring in the punters, I`m probably worse off than paying walk up.
Its less hassle than buying a ticket every week I guess.

When I’m skint at the end of the month at least I know I have the football to go to. Probably spend it on more important things if I was paying at the gate. I shall be renewing this year as per 🏁🏁

Ask a stupid question he will get a stupid answer. Don`t think there is anything in the original comment that will surprise people. Going to football games is expensive. Buying season tickets in a one off payment when you know you are going to miss more games than you save in this current climate is a no brainer to some. If your paying per game (walk ups) and it`s freezing, midweek, meaningless or we aren`t playing great that can put fans off. It's probably the same for every club.

What negative about it ? It`s a situation that some fans find themselves in. It`s a fans forum if you`re not happy with other posters opinions then feel free to ignore it but I`m unsure what makes you think you can tell posters what to post? Strange mentality. Anyway back to my point.
There is nothing negative about my post it`s unfortunately the way of the world that people are looking at things they can cut back on and most of the time season tickets are the first to go. With it being a large one off payment and if they don`t get any benefit from it i.e. missing more games than half a dozen or so you save by buying one they find it a non essential.

You are correct for you Cammy, but there are many reasons people buy season tickets. Mine is because I am in the NW and tickets are at a premium in that stand. Probably more so this year.
I sit with people I like and enjoy the banter to the players and the fun in the stand. It made it bearable and even enjoyable when we were murder. So that is my reasons. Just as your opinion is valid, I am providing a counter to your opinion.

Perhaps there should be a greater incentive for fans to buy a ST. In Serie A, fans can save as much as 40% on walk up prices at some of the smaller clubs. I don`t know if this reduction is achieved by a combination of also inflating the walk up price. I think the Bundesliga may also offer substantial savings - Big T and Co may be able to confirm this. Getting money in pre-season allows clubs to budget for the upcoming campaign and maybe bring in players they otherwise wouldn`t be able to afford.
On a side note, is there any way we can reduce the lengths of quoted posts as happens on the EEB? When posters get involved in a ding dong, as has happened above, it gets a bit tedious having to scroll through it all. Just saying. 🙂
Not your average Sunday League player.
