I wouldn’t go with that at the moment, this is where we are:

Goalkeepers:

1. Denis Mehmet (31) - May 2026

Defenders:

3. Kieran Ngwenya (22) - May 2026

4. Kyle Benedictus (33) - May 2026

15. Sam Fisher (23) - May 2026

27. Sam Young (19) - May 2026

Midfielders:

5. Chris Hamilton (23) - May 2026

6. Ewan Otoo (22) - May 2026

7. Kane Ritchie-Hosler (22) - May 2026

10. Matty Todd (23) - May 2026

28. Andrew Tod (19) - May 2026

33. Josh Cooper (22) - May 2026

??. Charlie Gilmour (26) - May 2028

??. Keith Bray (19) - May 2029

Forwards:

62. Dapo Mebude (23) - Future not confirmed? (not on release list or in talks list)

20. Chris Kane (30) - May 2026

26. Taylor Sutherland (19) - May 2026

17. Connor Young (20) - May 2027

Ages correct as of date of post. The list only contains players who have made at least one starting appearance at first team level.

Note - does not include players who are now out of contract but still in talks over a potential new deal

That`s quite a young squad at the moment with only Gilmour really at his `peak` age.

Will need serious quality added to that squad if we are aiming for promotion

That midfield doesn’t make for good reading. Zero creativity again. Still holding out hope another one or two will leave, if they’ve been told they won’t be playing much.

I`d say from what we have signed up at the moment most of them are squad players. I`d reckon only 5 of them would be considered starting 11 players, need to get some serious quality in.

GK
CB Chikloa-Mullen
CB
CB
RWB Bray
CM Gilmour
CM Otoo
CM

I agree, decent squad players mainly, some will get better, some will stagnate.

I notice round the clubs that other teams are mainly bringing in squad players so far, or guys that will grind through a physical season.

I think we will add a few quality players, some will work, some won`t.

I don`t think (and we probably shouldn`t) we will be breaking the bank.

I will be happy if we comfortably avoid being in the drop zone , and we make a push for the play offs-in other words, back to where we were before the Germans took over.

There`s so much that needs to be done!

I`d be happy if that (COW`s squad list) meant Mehmet has agreed terms to leave, and Mullen to stay. The fact they`ve obviously omitted Bray by mistake 🙄, shows you can`t fully trust whomever wrote it.

Gilmour is signed till 2028, not 29.

Mehmet`s omission, maybe they removed the wrong keeper seeing as Briggs is still listed in the reserve section.

red-star`s post, at the moment ive got it at 2 in Mullen and Kane if its the same formation with Gilmour as a probable and not including Bray yet as dont know what is best position is/will be.
Gilmour and Otoo as 2 of the midfield leaves potentially Oakley-Boothe, Todd, Cooper and A.Tod going for 1 spot

Is Andrew Tod a midfielder or an attacker? Or somewhere in between?

What`s his best position?

Watching him in the reserves his best position is every blade of grass tbh.

I`m guessing he will be first team squad this season surely?

The other young guys should go out on loan for six months, and the ones who were on loan last season but didn`t do well need to go on loan again I think- time to crack on.

Definitely played upfront in the final game against Morton and looked the real deal

Definitely looks like we’ve agreed to let Mehmet move on, probably by mutual consent.

Folk need to relax and realise that a lot of work gets done behind the scenes, just because we’ve not heard anything doesn’t mean deals are completed and waiting to be announced.

I’d assume we’ll get a big signing announced once the strip is getting unveiled for example.

Relax, be patient and buckle up for the season ahead.

Yes, he was released. I assume Gilmour is meant to step into that deeper role as well to be that playmaker.

No point in reading into too much just now, unexpected signings will come in, probably a couple of guys under contract will move on in some shape or form.

My hope as has been reiterated by James Bord is just improvement, I`d like to have a season where we`re more focused on being around the top 4 than having to look over the shoulder at relegation. That and some entertainment/goals, it`s been dire in that respect for several years.

Agree realistically improvement on last season and getting into the top 4 would be the aim. I tend to agree with NL you want signed players, and in particular players on 2 year deals. One or two loan players would be enough, in principal you want your own players so that you can manage them better.

Saw Lennon’s interview with the BBC and it sounds like he’s got his sights set on top 4. To be fair, that’s absolutely fine by me. No need for wild expectations. Let’s just see how things shape up.

I’ve not seen a single Championship signing so far that’s made me think “I’d take him at EEP.” Maybe the odd one or two will come good, but nothing that’s got me worried. Players won`t agree to anything straight away they will want to see if a better offer comes up elsewhere. Patience is the key.

It’s worth remembering what happened the last time we spent beyond our means, it didn’t end well. I do think the board will back Lennon, and from his tone, he seems to believe that as well.

Get top 4, reassess, and build again next season. No need to go daft. Long-term improvement over short-term panic buys all day for me.

c'mon the pars

its not about spending "beyond our means" or going "daft", its about using whatever the budget is in a smarter way than has been done for quite some time which the re-signings whether its 2 currently or all 4 is not a good start to that.

Can add cooper to the list in midfield now.

Here’s hoping there’s at least 6 likely starters to come in, that team will leave us in a similar position to last season.

Roll on some quality to give the fans a lift..

If a club of our size and stature doesn`t have the aim of finishing in the top four in a ten team league then shame on us

I look at the league next season and see 3 clear segments.

I think Airdrie, Arbroath, Morton and Queens Park will struggle and I`d be hugely disappointed with where we are if we finish below any of them.

Then a core of ourselves, Partick, Raith and Ayr. Personally I think both Partick and Ayr will dip next season.

Then County and St J which are relative unknowns. How much will they invest to go straight back up? How will their players cope with the transition from losing every week to going on the front foot? Don`t have the stats to hand but I`m guessing teams don`t bounce straight back up in at least half of the instances. Having two come down is a different dynamic of course.

I`m of the opinion that a small handful of impact signings could be all the difference as they could lift everyone else around them.

I`m predicting 2nd or 3rd for us - just gut instinct more than anything. I think, like most, I`d be delighted with a strong top 4 challenge and going into matches thinking "you know, there`s a chance we might score more than one goal today"

Surprised Euan Murray formerly at Raith hasn`t been mentioned, was with us before freed by Rovers.🤔

With an impending court case and a previous offence, there might not be anything to worry about!🙈
