I reckon the first-team players under contract now are -
Mehmet, Bene, S Young, Otoo, Fisher, Ngwenya, Ritchie-Hosler, Todd, A Tod, T Sutherland, Kane, C Young, K Bray, Hamilton, Cooper, Oakley-Boothe, Chilokoa-Mullen, Gilmour.
That`s 18. Have I forgotten anyone?

Yep, that`s what I have it as too. I`d think we probably need at least 7 more players that will be an upgrade in quality on what we have here now to push some of the players already signed on to the bench. That`ll take it up to a first team squad of 25, which is a decent number. Depending on when the court case for Benedictus and Fisher is, and the result of that we might need another 2 CBs too. Any of those players on the bench are good enough to step in and do a great job in a strong first team, but I wouldn`t like to see a first team made up of all those players (we`ve seen how that turns out). They need better players in the first team to help the others along.
GK. (I`ve a feeling we might see Tobi back)
CB. Chikloa-Mullen
CB.
CB.
RWB. Bray
CM. Gilmour
CM.
CM. Otoo
LWB.
CF. Kane
CF.
BENCH
Mehmet
Benedictus
Fisher
Ngwenya
Hamilton
Todd
Oakley-Boothe
Cooper
Richie-Hosler
C.Young
Then there`s the young players, top 3 could be either first team squad or put out on loan again
A. Tod
S. Young
T. Sutherland
Then the younger ones will probably be loaned out
J.Tod
J. Sutherland
McLeod
Hoggan
Rowe
Beveridge

Totally agree with Red star here, if we want to be serious about promotion we need 6-8 quality players to come in and start.
We were nowhere near good enough last year and most of last seasons squad are only fit to be back ups in a team playing at the top of this league.

those 6-8 would have to stay fit every week, think we need more than that to make top 4, probably 10+ with a few going out also but thats easier said than done considering the re-signings also.

100% what’s been said above, we need at least 6 experienced quality outfield players who are coming in as starters to feel a little bit like it won’t be the same as last season.
Lenny will know that tho, he couldn’t get the team scoring last season either. Hopefully we have better luck if we bring in any loans, it’s been hard going watching loan youngsters taking their first steps in this league, it’s too high a level to blood them.

It’s about the right blend. With a better player around him, a decent player can do really well. At the same time a really good player with no one on their wave length can look average. Bray got a 4.5 year deal. That suggests to me that there might be a season mainly on the bench. I hope not and he can step up quickly.
One or two eg Fischer & KRH might be told they are likely going on loan to encourage them to find another club and be released. What’s not for debate as many have already said across many threads is we need a handful of new signings of real quality. We also need two keepers as I think the reserve goalie got released ? I think this might be where a proven keeper could make a real difference qiving confidence from the back forward. Top level keeper, CM , LW/LWB, and a striker.

Lennon is on record as saying he`s not a great fan of the loan market and would prefer to have players in his squad whose sole commitment is to the club.
There`s always a tendency to think the bigger the squad the better but there must be a point where you can have too many players to be able to keep them all happy and interested and where logistical problems can arise around organising training, etc. Injuries are the great unknown of course.

We currently have four recognised CH’s. Young may go out on loan again leaving three. We defo need to sign a left sided CH and maybe another two depending on what happens with Bene and Fisher. The later date for their case is not know yet to my knowledge so a lot will depend on that. I hope it is cleared up one way or another before the window closes.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Now that we have Lennon and you think they’d have said he’d have money to spend am seriously worried at the lack of signings , David cook needs gotten rid off he offers very little to the club , Anyone in cooks position
would surly be hungry to get a standout signing early to boost the sale of season tickets . He’s failed todo this and or attract decent signings so far .

Could you explain to us exactly what David Cook`s role is in the recruitment process? Without this information it`s not possible to judge his performance but I can`t imagine he`s twiddling his thumbs with pre-season training starting on Monday.

You really need to read previous posts and club information .And all due respect how do you know what Cooks remit is.He must be doing something right behind the scenes or he mostblikely have been removed N.L.Sateed he was a contributing factor for him coming on board. We have released a fair number of players retained the ones the manager thinks can bring value.N.L.I am sure has the players in mind he wants to bring in and sure he would have ensured he was going to be given a good budget to do so .

End of the day, I think it’s a tough sell just now. Playing under Lennon might tempt a few lads from the Scottish scene, but if we’re looking at bringing players up from down south and they do even a bit of homework, it’s not the most appealing gig at the minute. Club’s just changed hands at board level, pitch has only just been relaid, and we barely scraped through last season. For some, that’s red flags and they might hold off and wait for better offers. On the flip side, there’ll be players who see it as a fresh project and fancy being part of a rebuild. Truth is, we won’t really know until the window plays out of we recruited well or not.
Lennon will already have a fair idea of his system, who he sees as nailed on starters, and who’s just making up the numbers. That gives us a clearer picture of what areas need strengthened. Not panicking yet.
So far, we’ve done what we needed to in terms of personel. We shifted the deadwood, and crucially, kept hold of Mullen. Massive. Gilmour looks a smart bit of business too, but I’ll wait to judge when I’ve seen him with my own eyes.
I get why folk are a bit twitchy about the lack of signings, but personally, I’m not ready to be wetting the Y-fronts just yet.
Never been a fan of Cook, but I trust Lennon to get it right.
c'mon the pars

Not much to get excited about at the moment. We’re still a long way away from having a team that will keep us safe, never mind challenge for promotion. Hopefully we can begin bringing in numbers in the next few weeks and we’re not losing out on targets for our rivals. The only signing a Championship team has made that I feel would improve us is Gallagher at Ross County. I can’t see Mackay-Stevens doing much.
I have a strange feeling Airdrie will improve massively this year as well, especially if a team are willing to pay 200k for Ben Wilson.

My impression is that the championship has become more physical and less skilful. The less skilful teams in the league resort to fairly brutal tackles that the generally poor quality referees fail to punish. Our recruitment policy has been towards the more twinkle-toed type of player who haven`t been physically robust enough to cope with the strong armed tactics dished out by the opposition. We need several real bruisers, preferably 6ft 2" plus, with caber tossers, big hairy legs to put the fear of death in the opposition. If you can get that with two 30 goal a season strikers, I`ll settle for that.

^^^^ Hey SJP
Are the season ticket sales poor this season in comparison ?
