Otoo
Trialist
J Tod
Amade
KRH
Oakley Booth

Noteworthy the Cove reserve goalie we had on trial isn’t on the bench so perhaps we have decided not to sign him.
No Kane again either.

I think it`s safe to say that the Celtic kid will be our next signing, and he`s good enough to be a starter, probably ahead of Bene.
Just a goalkeeper and striker to go, anything else is a bonus. Id rather we signed 2 goalkeepers so as we dont have to solely rely on Mehmet as backup. No offence, but he`s not good enough.
Or maybe not 🤔 .

We, like many other cubs of our stature, require a wealth of `quality players`. We`re not going to get them though, because we`re just a wee team. We`ll get decent championship players in, maybe bottom of the SPL level, that`s it. To think we`ll get 4 or 5 players better than that is delusional.
You can wish all you want, it isn`t going to happen.
Now, I`m self imposing a red card on myself so I can avoid this forum until the beginning of the season. Why? Because it`s doing my f`ing head in.
See you all in August, when the league starts. I`m not expecting much from our league cup endeavours.

Don’t be so negative Kozma.
Quality players, means quality at this level. We aren’t expecting messi.
4 or 5 good championship quality players/lower prem level/good players from abroad who can shine at this standard is fine.
The club have stated our aim of chasing promotion and told us quality players are coming. I’d like to think they mean it and aren’t lying to sell season tickets and jerseys.
Ultimately we will see but id like to think we will get the right 4 or 5 in and put together a decent go of getting in the playoffs.

seen Tod a few times and today wasnt a surprise, think its a little early for the championship though. Amade did alright although it was a stupid pass for their goal, Davidson did alright too and can see him being offered a deal even if its a "development" player on the fringes like Cameron, can see why Fyfe is highly rated and scored the goals he has, great finish for his goal.
after that, much of a muchness whether it be individually or the system/style.
edit: Lennon confirms speaking to Davidson about a deal.
also..
“We need some more bodies in, there’s no question of that. Obviously goalkeeper, strikers, I need a couple of strikers in and the wide areas as well. Midfield is strong, we’ve got good variation in there at the minute but we need to add at least five or six bodies to what we already have. We let a lot of players go in the summer and Keith Bray has come in because he was already signed and then Charlie and obviously Alphons. It’s all right wanting something, it’s getting the right ones in and it takes a bit of time but I’m pretty confident of the way things are going at the minute that we’ll get there.”
By next weekend? “Maybe not the weekend but for the start of the league campaign for sure.”

I haven’t come away from a Pars game in ages feeling that upbeat.
We look like we know what we are doing, playing as a team, tactically well set up & players responding to what’s asked off them. Lots of quality on the pitch.

Was pleased with that today, physically I thought the players looked pretty sharp for the most part and more of an emphasis on attacking moves than I`ve seen the last couple of preseasons, even if they didn`t all pay off. Some promising performances from the younger guys as well which is always good.
Davidson looks worth a deal, thought he looked very comfortable albeit against weaker competition. Certainly require a goalkeeper as a priority, left sided central defender and probably another couple wingbacks and two strikers.
Amade has a wee bit about him in that deeper role, quite creative and gets around the pitch well I think he`ll improve the midfield.

Very happy with what I saw today. I think some proper quality in the two striking areas to make the ball stick up top a bit more will make a big difference. Cracking goal from Fyffe and overall intensity and structure was there.
I imagine Lennons across this already but imo if your playing a back 3 your wingbacks need to be the best players in your team, I`m not convinced Otoo will excel in that position and the jury is still very much out on Ngwenya and KRH. NL comments after the game were very refreshing regarding recruitment and if he`s happy with how things are and confident for the start of the league that`s good enough for me.

In his post-match, NL gave some news on Gilmour, Kane, Zeke Cameron and Young, but nothing about Andrew Tod, so fingers crossed he`s OK or will be available soon.
He gave some clarity on the recruitment:
“We need some more bodies in... goalkeeper, a couple of strikers and the wide areas as well."
"we need to add at least five or six bodies to what we already have."
"It’s all right wanting something, it’s getting the right ones in and it takes a bit of time but I’m pretty confident of the way things are going at the minute that we’ll get there.”

One of my good friends is a Hibs season ticket holder, and he was saying that Lennon isn`t quick off the mark with signings. He takes his time to try and find the right people. They were frustrated at first with the lack of activity, but it all came good in the end. We need to trust the process. I think there`s a few aces to come soon.

He completely lost his confidence at the start of last season and it would be a slow process rebuilding that I suspect. NL doesn`t seem to favour playing out from the back so that might suit him too. It`ll be interesting to see who NL recruits in that position.

I’ll stick my head above the parapet here, but I don’t think he’s as bad as some make him out to be. For me, he’s a back up goalkeeperand his career points to that, but I wouldn’t go as far as calling him a disaster.
As has been said, his confidence was shot at the start of last season and that clearly didn’t help him. If we have to start this season with him as our number one, I don’t see it as a huge issue, as long as he’s not the long term solution.

I wonder if there are some clues as to the likely starting eleven given some players played nearly an hour – many will have to play 90 minutes shortly so it makes sense to step it up. Should we read anything into the fact that Bray and JCM only got 45 or that Jake and McLeod were involved in the initial warm-up?
Presumably the East Fife game will provide further evidence.
I enjoyed their new warm-up routine where they play 10 (or was it 12?) against 1 – line up in formation, play the ball quickly from the back through the midfield, knock it wide then have KRH or Otoo centre to the front players who are queueing up to thump it over the bar.
We are certainly more direct than under McPake and Tidser (although it would be hard not to be). The 3-4-1-2 seems the way we will play but there are some areas of doubt for me.
Mehmet will start unless there is a new signing.
LCB is an issue – Tod looked good and Ngwenya seems to be favoured over Otoo in that role. Would Davidson play there if he signs? I’m assuming JCM and Bene will start.
For the wingbacks – it looks like Otoo on the left and KRH on the right. I thought Bray played there but hasn’t in either of the games I’ve seen him feature.
Centre midfield – I’m guessing TOB (since he was captain) and Amade. Maybe Gilmour comes back in?
The forward trio is hard to pick – from what NL said I’d hazard Kane will play and I think Young has probably played himself into the team after a well-taken goal. Cooper has started well so he might play behind the front two, with Bray and Todd options.

Going by the ICT fans who post on our thread on P&B, Bray was played there by Duncan Ferguson, but they’d argue that’s not his natural position. They seem to think it says more about Ferguson’s incompetence than it does about Bray’s ability.
From what they’re saying, he’s much more effective further forward and is very much an attacking player.

Bray:
"“I’ve been playing on the right wing and then I played right middle and right wing back at the start of the season. My most comfortable position going forward would probably be in the centre of the park or maybe in the 10 a wee bit further forward but I’m easy. I just go wherever I get put. I’m not too bothered about that.”
"It`ll be interesting to see who NL recruits in that position"
if it isnt Oluwayemi then id guess it will be someone from down south or abroad.

Mehmets problem for me was his reluctance to come for crosses and thus had no command of his box. Seems late to integrate that into your style but it might have been an instruction from previous management, if somehow he is able to leave his line more it’d plug the biggest hole in his game.

Thought he could’ve done a bit better with the Kelty goal, dived the wrong way 🙄

I think the scorer solf a good dummy. Most if not all keepers would have gone tjat way. That was a tricky shot to guess.
