Neither of the early yellow cards are included in the match highlights. Any reason for this? I was looking forward to seeing what exactly justified 2 bookings in the first 10 minutes

They were both yellows - Young clear dive and J Tod basically took the boy out before he got through.
Ref was far from great but he got the bookings spot on.

John booking, see 1:32
I think the ref was right with Connor, though I wasn`t sure at the time. I think Connor guessed he was gonna get shoved from behind, and went down easy. However, the shove didn`t come. I think he saw the 18 yard line under him and on impulse tried to get a penalty. Hope he`ll stay on his feet next time because he had the ball.
John`s was a clear foul on Mochrie, who had the ball and was about to enter our box at pace. Bene was last man, but he had to race over a few yards to get Mochrie. I think he would have got him but it was a very threatening situation so I`d say John was justified in fouling their man.

The issue with Tod`s was the long ball a few seconds before it.
Airdrie played jumped into him, not even looking at the flight of the ball and zero attempt to play it.

Not seen the replay yet but at the game it looked like there was a shove. Said to the lads next to me at the time that Young probably had more chance of getting it if he didn’t fling himself down like he was auditioning for Swan Lake. Nothing worse than seeing players overreact trying to buy a cheap pen.
c'mon the pars

If he was in a Rangers top he might have gotten the decision.

agree looks like foul in advance of the Tod tackle. Also a very easy yellow for McTavish(?) for asking for Tod to be booked not once but twice raised his hand in the "display a card" motion.

I wonder if that is still a rule that you get booked for doing it?

Airdrie continually crowding the ref too. I assume the SFA have chosen not to implement the captains only rule?

I think a more plausible explanation is that most refs accept this "as part of the game."
If you`re old enough to remember the follically-challenged Pier-Luigi Collina, you`ll know that players rarely approached him to question his decisions. An unblinking, wide-eyed stare and a motion of his hand towards his breast pocket, was almost always enough to cool off even the most hot-headed player. 😃
Not your average Sunday League player.

absolutley still in the laws as dissent (sure most local ams players who have dealt with me recently will tell you as much. Similary wth at SPFL level players making a VAR jesture to ref etc.
"Airdrie continually crowding the ref too. I assume the SFA have chosen not to implement the captains only rule?"
should be any more than 3 players and the 4th is automatically cautioned (foolish if they are on a caution already). In that position ref may not be 100% aware of how many are around him if dealing/speaking to 1 pecific player etc

jumped into John. We`re sitting near
We`re the incident happened.

English Premier League had adopted the captains only rule. This is what BBC says about it:
Under the regulations, referees can instruct players not to approach them, and show yellow cards to those who do so without permission and behave in a disrespectful manner.
So it seems like the ref has to tell the players first (before the game?) and after this they would be booked for approaching.
I`ve not seen any coverage that the SFA has adopted this.
